Good luck Quincy, make sure Mummy spoils you rotten afterwards
Good luck Quincy!
Sending good thoughts for (((Quincy)))!
Have a good snip, (((Quincy))). This is like having your tonsils or wisdom teeth or appendix removed: you can ask for all the junk food you want and mommy HAS TO give it to you. So take advantage and nom-nom afterwards.
Well he’s been dropped off! I sent him with his blanket, a scarf of mine, his treat ball with plenty of pellets so he has something to do! And some wood chew sticks, a straw ball toy, and Ophelia’s stuffie. Too much? LOL I hope he’s comfy! He was totally snuggled up to her stuffie and I kept the cat carrier door opened and pet him the whole car ride (I wasn’t driving) and in the office while we waited to go in the exam room with the tech. He was on his best behavior and everyone commented how sweet he is!

Never
Stay bunny strong, (((Quincy)))! Stick it out a month or so after the operation while being spoiled rotten by your bunny mommy and you’ll be ready to make friends with that pretty Dutch bun…
Safe neuter-vibes (((((Quincy))))) Q8 is right, you know, when a bun has been put under he has a right to any treat he wants, the bun parent is not allowed to refuse him anything
We have loads of spring mix salad, fresh basil, naners, and peaches! All the treats for my trooper!

Yes, after recovery he will finally be able to meet his girlfriend without a baby gate in the way!
Sounds like our grocery delivery from 10 minutes ago. lol

I know this is a reputable vet but I still can’t control my anxiety…..I am staring at my phone just hoping for a phone call with an update!
I just called the vet, they said he is out of surgery and it went great!
And just like that *poof* my tachycardia was gone I’m such a stress ball…..
*fireworks* Way to go, Quincy! When will you be able to pick him up so you can start lavishing him with treats and cuddles?

After work They don’t allow pick up until 3:30 anyway and I get off at 4:30 so he won’t have to be there much longer than he’s supposed to. Unfortunately since the new receptionist scheduled me wrong at first, I had already committed to babysitting for one of the doctors I work with so I will have to just drop him home and then leave him. My husband will be home though to make sure he’s fine. And I took the day off tomorrow so I have a three day weekend to spend with him while he recovers
Aw, great! It’s hard knowing they’re in professional hands but there is always a risk. Finally your feet can touch the ground now
Big cuddles for a smooth recovery for Quincy boy xxx

Yes, I know they are capable and experienced, but you just never know what will happen! I’m feeling so much relief. Perhaps because I am also thinking that bonding is in the home stretch, and I can FINALLY get rid of this ridiculous baby gate set up!
What a relief! The baby gate scenario I can totally understand – I had my living room split in two by a partition that I had to climb over (I fell into it once) and let me tell you, taking it down was easily one of the biggest reliefs of my lifetime lol.

I have fallen before! In the middle of the night trying to go pee… the things I do for the buns

But it is the opposite with a bun like Reese who wouldn’t eat! I had to syringe feed her baby food! she hated me for a while afterwards lol
my female only wanted to eat veggies after! She wouldn’t touch pellets or even bananas! But he is a little piglet so I wonder if he will have a sweet tooth. I guess we will see!
Quincy is doing totally awesome. Night and day difference between caring for a spay versus a neuter… he was gobbling up hay and lettuce when he got home, with plenty of totally normal poops, drinking water, taking meds easy and begging to get out of the cage… except he looks so silly with his goopy eyes from whatever junk they put on there to keep them from drying during the procedure.
Yaaay! Good job, Quince m’boy!
Now you can breathe again, Noob.
kisses on the booplesnoot and virtual nommy treats from us
Virtual mommy treats XD I guess I will be spending the next half hour figuring out a set up to allow him some freedom besides the cage… or else I will be up all night from his tunneling out of the cage… there is nothing that he can jump up on in my room (besides bed, and he can seriously hardly jump at all lol) ok to let him out to move around or best to keep him at trying to maneuver a great escape??
As long as he doesn’t jump, I vote for move around.
Quincy loves you Q8 he says this is much better hahaha
How is Quincy doing this morning? Prime, I trust.
He’s doing great! You would never have guessed he had been neutered just yesterday! Last night I caved and let him out of the cage to have the room like he is used to. There’s nothing for him to jump on and he’s not much of a jumper anyway he seemed like he was in a little discomfort this morning, he was obviously trying to lay down but had his feet raising his bottom a little so he wasn’t touching the ground. He got some metacam, which he took very easily, and was actually doing some zoomies around the room after a bit… I told him to take it easy he’s been very cuddly!!! He very much enjoys all the extra salad and love he is getting
(in Mr. Burns voice) “Excellent!”
Now all you and Quincy have to do is stick it out for the next month or so until those hormones have faded out, and then you two can go to town!
LOL
So I know they put some stuff on their eyes to keep them from drying out, and I am pretty sure that they got a good bit of that on the top of his head… how? Idk lol. so when will this goop that is making his fur clump together come off? I have tried taking a damp wash cloth and wiping his head down. But it doesn’t go back to normal fluff. He looks like he has product on his head and is trying to go for a spiked hairdo…or maybe Mohawk… lol
It’s highly viscous lubricant. Harder to get out than Vaseline. I wiped Chewie off with terry dampened with hydrogen peroxide, and then let time take care of the rest.

I guess I will just leave it to him… he can decide when he wants to stop looking like a punk rock bunny
And in the meantime you can give him undignified but entertaining hairdos
So Quincy just did a lunge&grunt combo at me twice… I did have my hand on the ground right in front of his face, and I know they can’t see that to well but he has only done this to me once before. Eh not too worried about it because he is a total sweetheart, so I am just wondering if sometimes they do this if they are stressed or in pain?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still feeling the occasional twinge or ache, so yeah, that’s most likely it. Fernando, being an albino, has particularly sensitive eyes so I don’t think he can see a whole lot on bright sunshiny days (another reason for me to keep the blinds drawn in my apartment). I wish someone made rabbit sunglasses…
