OK, so I know its a bit early, but the bunnies got Halloween costumes! Well, more like hats, but still. You may note there are only 8 bunny pics when we have 9 bunnies. This is because Backers got smart and hid under the kitchen cabinet before he could wear a hat. Party pooper. But here’s everyone else looking rather festive!
Annie – Annie hated her hat. So much we nearly lost a hand putting it near her. So she agreed to just POSE with her hat lol.
Bruno – her hats on backwards…oops :p
Butternut the aviator
Caesar – He was much better behaved about the aviator hat lol.
Harley
Witch Hazel haha
Roxie…otherwise known as pumpkin butt lol
Zane…being eaten by a shark and none too happy about it!
That was painfully adorable. Caesar in particular is wearing that hat like a champ!
Squeeee!!!!!
LPT had better watch out!
Ahh!! So much cute!
That is an ADORABLE series of pictures !! Cute!!!!
<– Opens box of last years Halloween stuff, Olly looks at me as if to say. "Don't you dare, don't even think about it." and hides in his box.
Beautiful pictures.
They are BEAUTIFUL, Bruno’s Mama!!!
SQUEEEEEEEEE!
I’m SO going to PetZone this weekend to see if they have anything for Chewie. Prepare yourself, rabbit!
The aviator hat!! So stinking cute!
Veeeery cute ! But with the Bruno pic, are you sure it’s the HAT on backwards??!! LOL (I know I know, I can actually see her nose!! Just!)
Okay this flippin made my day…..the aviator made me burst out loud!!! So THANK YOU BUNNIES!!!!
LBJ10- Unfortunately, I think my yearly Halloween costume making has ended with Olivia. I really don’t think Sterling would tolerate getting dressed up and I just don’t think I could find the time anyways. But I have so many great pics to remember the good times. I really enjoyed making all those costumes.
Aww, surely Sterling could wear a little hat.

Uh uh uh! What about Everlyyy. You’ll still dress her up, right? Even if it’s a bought costume, we still gotta see the cuteness!
Thanks everyone!
VB it’s always possible Bruno is on backwards lol!
We DON’T do Halloween in Oz (thank goodness!) but I love that you guys do – away from MY house! LOL!
Just wanted to say ‘hi’ BM! xo
Yes, of course, Jersey! She might have several costumes as we have parties and then trick or treating! And planning a homemade costume for her for a comic-con in November
I HATE Halloween – I take the fuse out of my doorbell now and put the shutters down – bah humbug !!!!
I live in a VERY residential (half council) area where the parents think it’s normal to let 5-7 yrs old go on their own and knock on complete strangers’ doors….
One year, when I opened the doors to upturned palms, dirty faces I’d never seen before in my life and an order of “bonbons!”… sometimes I said they could have ‘bonbons’ if they could tell me what halloween meant…. (lol, you should’ve seen their faces ) or sometimes I just said ‘What do you say’? (I was waiting for “Bonbons Please”, I got “Bonbons!” again) – sometimes prompted atleast 5 times(!!) before they twigged….!! (or I gave in !)…
bahhhhh humbug !!
I don’t get why we say “Trick or Treat”, because I’ve never gotten one trick!! >
I don’t get why we say “Trick or Treat”, because I’ve never gotten one trick!!
It’s actually a threat! You aren’t asking them to give you a trick, you’re saying if they dont give you a treat, you’ll play a trick on them!
Omg BrunosMama, so cute!!! Especially Caeser with that aviator hat… that killed me…
Haha! Vienna, they are supposed to say “Trick or Treat”. If they don’t, then they get a rock instead of candy.
They haven’t understood the whole “trick or treat” thing at all…. it’s just…. “BONBONS !!!!!!!”
Not even, “Bonsoir Madame, (*pause for cute smile*) BONBONS !!”
No, no. Just the one word !
Bunny Costume for Lazies……
So cute!! My beanie babies weren’t that adorable!
Wow, that is the best costume I have ever seen
OMG, LPT. It took me a minute to figure out what’s happening in that pic. I kept thinking: how’s a stuffie a costume?
for Reese’s halloween costume, see Oct Pics
We had trick or treaters here last year, only two groups I think with a couple of parents. The parents were extremely thankful and grateful that we played along and had chocolates to give to them. Given how grateful they were I can only imagine how many houses they stopped at that didn’t have anything to give not knowing what day it was, or that just ignored them completely. Hubby is from the states so we can’t just ignore Halloween I’m thinking this year I might put some sort of decoration out the front to make it obvious that we’re doing Halloween. The best benefit was that we had leftover chocolates, so guess who got to eat those
Porch light on is the universal signal for “this house has candy”.
Well last year they all came while it was still light out
LOL, who goes trick or treating when it’s light out? :p
Haha, yeah its Daylight Savings time here by the time Halloween rolls arounds. I happened to be sitting on my front step last year, just as sun was setting, so I had just put the light on while I was out there. Within a few minutes I had some people come up the drive. I felt a bit bad, as I wasn’t doing the whole halloween thing. At my last place, if local kids were doing it the parents gave the area a heads-up before hand. They also usually accompanied them but stood back a bit. They always shout out “no worries!” if you had to turn the kids away. I usually do the porch light thing.
When I was a kid, you waited till it’s dark to Trick or Treat. Made it more fun. Now there curfews and some of the kids, especially the younger ones go at like 4 which I think is really stupid because most people are not even home from work. We took Everly out early last year because all the other kids were out. I just can’t accept trick or treating in daylight….Halloween is supposed to be spooky….I’m one of those disgruntled old people “Back in my day….”
Great costumes and it’s so good that you started this topic so I won’t forget to prepare myself for kids this year. It’s been two years now that I get myself a face palm when I see them at the door. And then I feel so bad. We live in a building so it’s not so festive and in general it’s not celebrated here that much.
But this year, oww… I’m so gonna stock us up with candy!

<— Writes it down on paper that Niamian will have candy, sticks note on door to tell all the kids where to go, lol.
LittlePuffyTail, your bun/consume is absolutely adorable and just perfect.
Yay, I love this thread We don’t really celebrate Halloween in the Netherlands, but Breintjes costume here would have been perfect for it! The LARP gamemasters wanted me to design a cape for a group of evil cultists. Of course it had to be black with a high collar and evil symbols embroidered onto it, so I made a miniature version as a protoype. That happened to fit Breintje perfectly. So here is our little bundle of evil, isn’t he just a treat?
I’ve always wondered, how do you pronounce Breintje’s name?

I’ve always wondered, how do you pronounce Breintje’s name?
https://translate.google.nl/#nl/en/breintje
Click on the “Listen” button in the bottom left and hear the lovely robotic lady butcher our language ^_^
It’s not as exaggerated as pronounced, it sounds far friendlier in natural Dutch. It’s tricky to get it right because we have certain constructions with vowels. If you pass that through algorithms it just doesn’t sound right.
Update: a better pronunciation can be found on this site: http://www.acapela-group.com/ Select the language Dutch (NL), select the speaker called “Max” and type in “Breintje”. It sounds quite mellow.
So kind of like Bren-gee
Has Breintje been working on his evil laugh? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
He’s too cute to do Evil !
Not a very good evil laugh, but he does a mighty good arrogant “hrrrrumpf” when his food is late. Yes master..
Hahahaha he is evily adorable!
And Charlies Angel you got me there but I don’t mind.
Because Olly will not let me dress him up, I’ll have to put a photo of me here later in my costume.
Oh man, I need a costume for me. It needs to be simple and kid-friendly though because 1) I don’t want to spend a lot of money and 2) this is at the children’s museum. I was a bee last year.
Do you still have the costume? Just go as a Bee again. It’s important Bees are seen. You can be the voice for Bees. It’s educational!
Yes, but I borrowed the wings last year. I don’t think I can get them again. =\
LBJ, could you go as some type of caterpillar? Caterpillars are interesting. We had a big black one in our greenhouse not long ago, it ate all the grape leaves. (We let it. It was so fascinating-looking.)
5 minute ladybug costume Then just get a headband with feelers / antennae.
Or if you have any animal print clothing already, just wear that and make some ears. Maybe add some face paint.
Or wear all black clothing, string a heap of led fairy lights over yourself and tell them you’re the Milky Way.
Or a Squirtle! That would be so cute. I know you like turtles and most kids will probably recognise a pokemon character. I dont know if it’s an easy DIY/cheap costume though…
I made a ninja turtle costume once. Lol. (Not for Halloween).
