Last night while I was sleeping my husband came excited and made me drag myself out of the bed and change cloth to go somewhere. I kinda guessed it has something to do with going to the pet store. And so it was. He took me to this pet store and showed me this cage with two white bunnies in them. At first I was..Yeah they are bunnies, adorable yet sick looking bunnies. What is it? and he gleefully point to a corner where I missed a small bunny all buried behind one of the white bunny. And it was love at first sight. I started screaming and kicking and squeezing my husband hand to get that lil bunny out of that cage. In fact I wanted all three bunnies out! It was such a depressing cage and also a very small one. And finally we took the lil bunny with us and I glaring at the shop owner demanded some answer about how he is medically taking care of these sick bunnies? And he said he gives medicine but I doubt. I am a newbie yet I know much about bunny than that owner
Anyways moving on, So when we took the bunny home, at first Toki wasn’t even aware of the bunny. Later when he saw the lil one all fuzzy inside the box we took him. Toki went wild/ excited/ angry? I don’t know what his reaction was. All I know is I haven’t slept whole night because of it. Toki kept sniffing the lil bunny meanwhile the lil bunny is trying to runaway from him. And last night we secure a lil area for the lil bunny so that Toki wont be able to go in. And that made Toki even more worked up. He barely slept. All he did was darting from one place to another and again go back to sniffing the area where bunny is and after that jumps to my bed and poop and go back and repeat the whole process. He never pooped in the bed before. Oh my god! it was insane. What is happening to Toki? Why is he reacting this way. Did I introduce the lil bunny too soon? Even if it is I have to find a way Toki get used to the lil bunny.
Ok now, about the lil bunny, I don’t know its gender yet, its too small, and I have no clue hoe old that bunny is. Damn it its moment like these I wish I wasn’t living in Maldives and was living in some place where people actually knows stuffs about these lil bunnies.
What should I feed, and how? it seems to nibble slowing on the pellets I put just in case it might eat it. Help! Help! Even Toki wasn’t this small when I got him. Should I let Toki near this bunny or should I keep separating them? How can I calm Toki? What do I have to feed a baby bunny??
I would probably keep them separated until you know gender to start with. Also Tokii could be a little territorial not having had company. Any success locating a vet yet, you will need to consider having them desexed just in case they do become a couple. If they are interacting I would keep them closely supervised as there is a big size difference. Hay is very important for them both especially the young one, pellets should also be unlimited if under 5 months of age.
I agree with Roberta. I would keep them seperated until you know the new bun’s gender and whatnot.
Congrats on the new bun though!!! s/he is a cutie? Need help with name suggestions?
I didn’t mean to use a question mark at the end of “S/he is a cutie” I meant to type an exclamation mark!
I’m using a family member’s tablet, so not used to it!
But your new bun is truly adorable!!!
Ok I will keep them separated. But is it okay for Toki to come near it time to time when I let it go out for a bit?
As for the Vet. It seems that there’s a Vet in Ministry of Fisheries and Agricultural here in Maldives. In order to show them to a Vet I have to fill a form and submit it to them and afterwards either within 3 days or after 3 day he would visit my house for the check up they do this only on work days. And I asked the office if they do any operation stuff when necessary like spaying and the office say that they aren’t sure…The Vet is visiting to the house because there isn’t any place for them to do check up back in the office. Imagine my horror.
So I have asked some of my work colleagues if I could get a direct number of a Vet.
MM : Yes please!! But first we got to find out if its a she or a he then we can decide on a name!!
Thank you, Roberta and MM for your response
Well, if your new bun *happens* to be a female and *happens* to be old enough to have babies (I’m thinking they can be old enough at 4-6 months? I might be slightly off though) it takes a very short amount of time for them to…”reproduce”… So I would avoid them being together until you know the gender, but that’s just me!
I’ll have to think of some names!
I’m not sure what names are popular where you live, but:
Girl names: Holly, Angel, Belle, Phoebe,
Boy names: Ace, Max, Bear, Luke,

Phoebe!! and Ace!! I love both name but if I name it Ace.. I am pretty sure he will be bullied because, you know how it sound like another certain word..yeah that…
Peanut ? Bramble, Bacci (means Kiss in italian), Snickers, Toffee, Sandy or Pebbles.
He`s so cute. Looks quite young to me.
I never really realized how “big” Toki is. He always looks so small without something to really compare him to. He looks huge compared to your new bun, do you know how big is he now?
Sorry I don’t have any experience in this situation but I wanted to say congratulations! New bun bun is adorable! Looks like the size of my baby when I got him and he was 6 weeks
He looks so so young! I have no experience with young buns like that. Just want to stress the “quarantine”-period for Toki’s sake, at least until you’ve had a vet check. You don’t want Toki catching anything bad.
He’s extremely cute. Or she. I wish you the best of luck with him/her!
I think the name Manny is still available, if you want an impressive and noble type of name for him (her). =D
Manny is most certainly NOT available! =p
I agree with the others. It’s probably isn’t a good idea to let them interact until you know gender and you know the new one doesn’t have anything contagious.
Roberta: Hmmm Bacci…I LOVE IT! Thank you Roberta
LPT: Yeah it is pretty young although I still don’t know how old he is
MM: if you meant how old he is, it has been two months I had him
Binkymom: Thank you, should I assume hes 6 weeks? although he really really look small
Bam: Yes Manny sounds lovely. oh my god so many good names. But I think LBJ disagree with that name Yeah I have separated them both. But Toki is so eager to go close to he/she. Maybe its love?
LBJ: Why is Manny not available?
Thank you all for your advice. Really Appreciate it.LOVE YOU GUYSSS
EDIT: I got a direct number of a Vet from my work colleague and when I called it was a disconnected number.. So frustrated right now
Oh Tokii! Please don’t ask why Manny isn’t available! LOL! Bacci is a wonderful name!
Your new bunny is adorable and so tiny!
Hey Just to update: yesterday I noticed those paste like pee on the bedding of baby bunny(I have got to check the gender to name it soon) and since I have read it somewhere in this forum that its because of too much calcium in the diet. And No I do not give him/her milk.I already got good advice on not giving milk when I had Toki Although I notice he/she doesn’t drink water.
Seeing that paste like pee made so worried. What I did was I brought this small syringe and force him/her to drink water. Last night and this morning no sigh of paste yet. Just regular pee. And he/she seems to eat lots of lettuce just fine.

Oh Tokii! Please don’t ask why Manny isn’t available! LOL! Bacci is a wonderful name!Your new bunny is adorable and so tiny!
The more you ask me not to ask makes me curious, now I WANT to know! LOL
Tokii – You are fairly new here, so I will forgive you for not knowing. The truth is, Manny is not available because it already belongs to a sweet little bunny owned by Tanlover. She knows his name is Manny, so don’t believe anything she (or anyone else) tells you otherwise.
Oh and Bacci is a wonderful name. Go Team Bacci!
This was Mr Binks at 6 weeks
LBJ10 : Oh ok..Then I wont name my bunny Manny..
Yeah about the Bacci name.. I was rooting for Bacci the minute Roberta suggested, I even fell in love with the name.. I looked to my baby and say to myself..that’s a Bacci right there, but guess what my partner disagree with it. said he found the baby at first place and he get to name it and I got to name Toki too its only fair he get to name this bunny. And so we argued for a while and I finally give in and said, fine! the next bunny we get I call dibs in naming the bunny Bacci!!! So people Bacci belongs to me oh maybe I shall call Bacci when my partner is not around hehe (sinister laugh) imagine, the bunny will be so confused.
“Hey Tim come to daddy!”
“Hey Bacci my angel come to mama!”
And yeah, my baby is a boy ( all the reason I want to name him Bacci *sigh*) and he was named as TIM
DO YOU GUYS LIKE THE NAME TIM?
*Sigh*
Binkymom: awww so lovely, but I think Tim (sigh) looks much tinier. Oh my god am I going to sigh every time I say Tim(sigh)
UPDATE about the Pee: His pee is changed to little paste like think to liquid white color. I am guessing its doing better?
Tokii – Here’s what you do. Just start calling the bunny Bacci until it finally sticks. That’s what my husband has done on numerous occasions. He doesn’t like the name I picked out for said pet so he just keeps calling them the name he wants.
So tell your partner that you have no clue who this “Tim” is. But you are quite delighted to have little Bacci there.
Go Team Bacci! Go Team Bacci!
PS (If you haven’t looked up Manny yet, I suggest you do. This will all start making more sense.)
Tokii — trust me when I say LBJ will not give up! Your new bunny will forever be Bacci on BB!
(Team Tucker WuckWucks)
Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny!
LOL I read the Manny Vs Tucker thing (although I didn’t finish reading the whole thing) OH MY GOD! such fun. Dont worry LBJ I wont name him Manny.
My partner says Toki hates him. So when we got Tim(Sigh) he wanted Tim(sigh) for himself and was determine to make Tim love him back. Although hes not around much because of his work to take care of them Its always me who does everything. So they get attached to me. Poor guy, he doesn’t know Tim is already attached to me than him. Anyways it was only fair to let him name my little Bacci as Tim. He will always be my Bacci though..
LMAO!! I just saw your post LBJ!
Told you she wouldn’t give up!
Well that settles it. From this moment on, he will be known as Bacci.
Go Team Bacci!
JR – You’re just jealous. =p
HA! Found it!
What’s up with all this Tim stuff? Who would rename Bacci?
After all, the input of your SO doesn’t matter. We proved that with TL.
Indeed LEL! Bacci is Bacci. No more of this Tim nonsense. You tell him that Tokii.
BacciBacciBacci!
Well, Bacci IS a very good name.
To be honest, Tucker Wuck-Wucks will probably always secretly be Manny, deep in the hearts of many of us here. The name doesn’t seem to be as available as I thought.
=)
~Bacci~Bacci~Bacci~!!!
OH MY GOODNESS MR.BINKS IS SO ADORABLE AS A BABY!!!
Tokii, when we got Butternut, my husband wanted to name her something else. But thanks to naming skills and support of BB, I just started calling her Butternut around him and to everyone, made her nicknames, and eventually he gave in and said “Yeah, she looks like a Butternut.” Mwa haha haha! So it DOES work! Lol
Bacci is cute. Makes me think of the yard game where you toss balls. Bocce ball I think.
When we got Biscuit(now crossed the bridge) she was tiny! Smaller than a pop can and way to young to be sold. She had digestive issues. But one thing that bothered her most was poppy butt. So maybe something to keep an eye on.
Good luck!
BTW, I could never take the name Tim seriously. I’d always have South Park moments….lemmemelowahdjhfdTIMMAYYY!! Lol
No, I just think of Jerseygirl’s Tim Tim.
Oh my god you guys!! I just notice LEL and LBJ’s Team Bacci in Avatar thing!! I cracked up so hard my work colleague was giving me shhh looks.HAHAHA.
So after yesterday with LBJ advice I went home and waited for him to come home. And as we sat down for dinner I so casually brought the topic.
Me:So Tim huh? (Yes I may have lied when I said I casually brought the topic, it was more of a direct approach)
Him: What do you mean by So Tim huh?
Me: Look at my baby, so you think he looks a Tim? or more of a Bucci?
Him: …….
Me: Bucci.
Him:….
Me: Bucci, Bucci,Bucci
Him: What are you doing?
Me: Bucci, Bucci, BUUCCCCCCIII !!!
Him: Alright alright, Let me think about it.
Me: ……..Bac–
Him: Fine! Its a weird name, how does it pronounced anyway, Basssi,Baaseee, Bassi! Bakki? (went on and on)
Me: Its pronounced “BAH-chee”
Him: Bahchee…Bah cheeeeee…hmmmmm. sounds like Calling for kids in Hindi
Me: Oh no no, its Baccho I think.
Him: Hmmm…I gotta admit Tim is way too short name for me to call him. I like Tim..but I think Bah— CHeee is way more better
Me:First of its doesn’t have a long pause between Bah and Chee Its simply Bah chee.. Bacci and secondly YEAYYYYY!!
EDIT: So LBJ, LEL,MM,BAM, BRUNOMAMA,ANDY! WE WON!! HURRAAYY GO TEAM BACCI I have got to show him this whole thread! LOL
BrunosMama: ((Binky free Biscuit)) I did check once and like you said, saw tiny fecal stuck so I cleaned it. Thank you for the heads up, I will check for it everyday.
Yay Bacci! Did you hear that Andi? We won! (AH had Team Bacci in her avatar too)
We need to thank Roberta too for suggesting the name.
Happy to help. and nothing like a good naming event to get the group going.
Andy too?? Wow!
Yeah, thank you Roberta for the lovely name you suggested. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have had such fun with all of you.
And MM, If it was girl I would have named name her Phoebe
YAY!
BB: 2
HUBBIES: 0
Don’t forget I named Addie. But I don’t think there was much opposition.
Tokii – You have to know who Andi is! LOL
LEL: Now we’re keepin scores?? LOL
LJB: Andi huh? ok working on it now!!
Thanks MM it’s hard to believe he was that small! I can’t believe he will be a year old soon
I love the name Bacci, I was wondering how you pronounce it
Yay, BACCI!!!!!
I was actually wondering too how you pronounce it. Bah-chee is lovely!
I first thought of the Grecian god Bacchus.
Yay Bacci!
I just love these naming threads.
Thank you, Binkymom, Bam and MM. Yeah, when Roberta first suggested the name first thing I did was search how to pronounce it. And fell in love. Once again thank you Roberta
