First I’d like to assure everyone that my rabbit is not hurt, he is fine, and it was an accident and is not to be repeated.

Lint my mini rex buck excels in the sport of bunny jumping , and I should have seen it coming! I was in my kitchen this morning when I heard a scurry noise from around the corner where the mud room is. I turned to look and I see Lint binkying high in the air and kind drifting a little from his course just to plop with a giant splash into my dogs’ huge water pail! He didn’t even go under, he just kicked his legs and bounced right back out, soggy, onto the kitchen floor, dripping water, water everywhere, including up the fridge door and on my dozing dog. He started grooming himself right away, with small puddles trickling from his belly, pooling around him.

The thing is, only his bottom half got wet. But he was so peeved!

This water pail wasn’t supposed to be in that spot, I had just filled it and left it there for a moment…

          ahhh, that’s so cute. You’ve got a mop-bunny instead of a dust-bunny…..lol

          I bet that was funny.

That’s so funny. You just never know where they are going to land once they get a binkyin’, they just kinda throw themselves about. I bet it was quite a shock for him too.

Dive bomb! Wonder if the rex fur sort of repels water? The irony of having rabbits named Lint and Mops and this story………hehe.

I can now say with certainty that rex fur does not repel water, it acts more like a sponge. Lint looked very slick, though, and he was slippery to scoop up for his drying ritual involving a bunny burrito.

He wasn’t mad at me at all, he is a very forgiving sort of bun. Plus, he loves adventures. He had been fascinated with this pail for a while and has climbed up on things to reach it and drink from it.

my poor Bunny had a crazy bath once. It was fairly soon after I got him and he had yellow feet from the litter box, so I was going to dip his feet in water that I put in a bin on the bathroom floor. He was totally fine with that and it was under 2 inches deep and everything. But then when I tried to pick him up to me he kicked off my belly and did like a backwards summersalt through the tub of water! Poor little guy was dreanched! I had to give him big hugs to make him feel better and give him a good blow dry. I felt bad and have since learned my lesson! A wet bunny is a strange thing to see. His mini rex fur was quite curly that day.
