Since i got my boy bunny Fluff neutured hes been alot less energetic he does alot more sleeping than my female rabbit, Fuff. Is this something i should worry about?

Also today i got a new adopted bunny, shes a young mini dwarf and she makes these breathy squeking noises, is this something i should worry about as well?

Do you think the noise is related to her breathing?  If so, you should have her checked out by a vet.  Respiratory infections can cause sounds when the bunny breathes.  Make sure to was your hands after handling your new bunny (and preferably change your clothes too) to minimize the chance of passing along anything to your other bunnies. Since you already have 2 bunnies, it would be a good idea to get her checked out anyway just to make sure the new one does not have any diseases or parasites that are contagious.

i agree! it’s always a good idea to have a new bun vet-checked. some rescues will actually require it is done within a one or two-week period. if you do it very soon after adopting, if there is a problem, some rescues might be willing to reimburse for vet costs. you could also contact them and ask if they had noticed anything before you picked her up.

The shelter shes at was run by the vet (I live in a tiny town with one vet which is the shelter, pet store and everythign in one) So I think the vet would have cheaked her wouldnt he? I dont think its breathing related, its just when shes suprised I think. I just never heard a bunny make noise before…..But mabey i will get her cheaked just in case. Are there any other signs that would have shown if she had a resportory disease?

If the noise is constant, that could indicate a problem. However if it’s only at certain points, it could be her ‘talking’
Are you able to take a video of it, so we could hear it too?

Respiratory diseases/infections will usually but not always present with wheezy breathing, runny nose or eyes. But the wheezing would be pretty constant.

My Coco snores – and it sounds like breathy squeaks.
I worried when I got her – who thought of a snoring rabbit? – but she does it every day
And, like all rabbits, she sleeps with her eyes open so it IS freaky

Yeah I think ‘Talking’ Sounds like a good explanation for it. I think she ‘talks’ to my other bunnys and me and my boyfriend. Ill try to get a vidio, she doesnt really do it alot, but if possable ill get one and post it.

If its just occasional she’s probably just telling you something Mine little netherland dwarf grunts at me any time I go to pet her. I think is bunny for “WATCH IT LADY!”

Its pretty normal for a male to calm down a lot after a neutering. How long has he been neutered for? If it is just a couple days, he may just be recovering from the neuter, and if its been awhile, his hormones are probably dying down which will make him more calm. What kind of bunny is he? I’ve found that the larger bunnies, and also the lop bunnies tend to be more relaxed than my smaller uppy eared bunnies.

Fluff is a mini lops rabbit, well hes pretty huge for a mini lop…..But its been a few months. I noticed that my new perky eared bunny is alot more energetic than eathir of my minilops as well.

I think Foofoos some sort of dwarf, but they didnt say when i got her.
