The rabbits I’ve had before were pretty much littertrained. But Lucy, she’s a whole new story.  She pees and poops everywhere!  I know I am supposed to start small and put a litterbox in the corner that a bunny likes to mark in.  But what if your bunny poops and pees everywhere?   I know part of it has to do wiith being so young, but when is she supposed to understand?

Has she been spayed?  I mean is she old enough?  I have been told that makes a difference.  We got our rabbits as adults, and they were already spayed, so that may explain why they came litterbox trained.  Either that or we just got lucky.

I remember in your other post you said she was only 12 weeks.  Is that right?  If so, don’t get discouraged. It’s normal for babies to be much more messy and take longer to train than adults.   Also, as Jewel mentioned, it WILL make it easier if you decide to spay.   Plus, its healthier because female rabbits have a very high percentage of cancer in their reproductive organs.

So even though she may be a little bit more messy until you get her spayed, it’s still good to train her.   Reason being is that unaltered bunnies may learn to be littertrained, but their need to also mark outside of the box is still strong because of their hormones.  When they are neutered, and their hormones die down, the need to mark outside of the box is lessoned, but the habit of pooping and peeing (not marking) inside of the box may already be ingrained because of previous training.   So all your hard work wouldn’t be for nothin’.  Make sense?

what kind of litterbox does she have? ive seen that my buns (they are 13 weeks old now) did ALOT better with a rectangular litterbox with pellet litter. sometimes when i take them out however, they do their territory marking because they had just been recently spayed but my Mochi has been having better litter box habbits. the only reason she has poo outside is because she is too ancious to go play that when she has a poo left, she jumps out, taking it with her. ive seen her do it a couple of times. but she is getting better at leaving it all in the box. as for her cage, she is really really good at it. she has hay in there as well so when she grooms she goes out of the box and when she is in, she goes in. so all her poo stays in the box. spaying really does help however, it takes a while for the hormones to go away. it has been almost a week and my Emo is still behaving weird. (she is still humping and marking)

Yes, get her spayed, get a huge litterbox and fill it with hay.
