Oh my god i think kingston is a genius!

The other day i noticed that his two kitchen roll inner tubes were stacked on top of each other in his cage, i was really excited by this but then yesterday when i was about to claen his cage i noticed that the tubes had changed position.  One of the tubes is fat and the other is thin and kingston had put the thin one INSIDE the fat one!!!!!!!!!

Is this normal bunny behaviour or do i have a genius in my midst?

And also, the last 3 times i have let him out of his cage he has done no poos or wees!!!! and i havent even had him neutered yet.

Last nite he let me groom and pet him while he was out of the cage for the first time ever! he was also really nosey, following me around the room to see what i was doing instead of running off when i walk near him!

        I think i have a breakthru!!!!

Some buns are neat freaks. My maryann is one. Has never left a stray poop outside of her litter pan, never weed anywhere other than the litter pan. And she once put a rolly ball inside of a cardboard tube, inside of a quaker oats tube and then rolled the whole thing into the corner of the room.

Awww, congrats on your breakthroughs! That’s so great that he’s settling in so well!

(Maryann is scary-smart! Don’t be intimidated…she also reads minds and predicts earthquakes. I suspect she’s actually a very small fuzzy alien…)

Wow!!! Lucky you I’m STILL trying to get Daisy to figure out the litter box thing!! LOL

Don’t worry baby_daisy, I have a bunny who knows how to open sliding doors with her teeth, works out routes to the bench-top every time I destroy her old one and can open the crisper in the fridge if I leave the door open for a fraction of a second too long, but she still will pee outside the litter tray if I’ve annoyed her.

Maryann is pretty amazing. I don’t know how good I’d be at ‘owning’ a rabbit I suspect is more intelligent than I am though.

Well I don’t know about being more intelligent.  At the end of the day, she’s in the cage for the night.

At least i think she is…

Maryann is a freak of nature (I love her of course) and should have been named “The Professor.”

Though we could nickname Professor Kingston instead.

Hes also really stubborn too, if i block off an area he will try and try to get into it just to prove that he can, once he is in the area he just comes straight back out with a arrogant look on his face!

Ive given him a tennis ball to see if he can play football but he seems a bit confused by it.

Im glad to hear clever bunnies are a normal thing, i was starting to worry he might over take me in intelligence (its looking likely!)

It’s a bunny thing. If there is a way to get into a spot, they’ll get into it. Thats why bunny proofing has to be so thorough because otherwise the bunnies just see it as a challenge.

Hes in my bad books today, yesterday he bit through the phone wire when i wasnt looking and then he came for a groom, which i did but when i stopped he bit right through my thumb!!!!!
I told him off, held his head down and swiftly put him back in his cage and thats where he stayed for the rest of the day.
Im considering wether or not to let him out today. Think its time to arrange his little trip to the vets hahaha

Well, he may be a genius, but even so, I’m not sure he’ll be able to equate “mom won’t let me out!” to “I bit mom yesterday”…they’re awfully clever, and I think they choose not to understand cause-and-effect quite that well…
