The last two Saturdays I have found my little Maragret to be making kind of a snuffling noise during normal/non-distressed respirations. On closer exam I find that she has a white booger coming from her left nostril. Its easy enough to remove with one of those baby bulb aspirators. Anyone have any ideas on the cause and severity of the situation? I want to reiterate that at no point was she in distress or acting unusual and this is not a daily occurence. Thanks!

an stray booger is not a big deal. if it continues, or is accompanied with runny eyes/ abnormal eating and pooping, i’d suggest you get her in to see the vet.

Mimzy had a recent episode like this, but he was also wheezing. I rushed him in, thinking he was coming down with snuffles or had something stuck in his nose, but he was fine. Like Beka said watch for any other signs of illness and if something else manifests, contact your vet.

It is hard to say if it is not a big deal as any color of “booger” for lack of a better term could be a sign of illness or infection. Has this only been twice and one week apart? What happens on Saturday that is unusual from any other day that might be causing this? It really is best to check with a vet or even just give them a call and ask if it warrants a trip in. Are all other habits normal?

I would suggest seeing a vet, mine has on numerous occaisions in discussions said nose boogers are worriesome, so maybe to ‘just in case’ pop in or maybe phone them and see what they think?
