Sorry janymae-saw you post this in another thread-and I believe it deserves it’s own thread. I’ll pin it so it stays current and you see it.

^^ i second that question, also if he was recently neutered they can loose their ability to go in a litterbox so you may need to train them slightly again.

Hrmm. I wish there would be a change in litter habbits with all of my boys. There’s no change left to make but for the better…lol! That Thumper though…she never misses the box. She’s not friendly at all but at least she’s courteous…lol!

This is all assuming that he is fixed and a change of hormones isn’t to blame:

Just like you said, it sounds like acting out to me! He’s been naughty in other areas, which is his way of sending you a message. He’s just saying it with poo, too! I say this b/c when my bunny poops outside his litterbox, it’s generally for a reason. I rearranged the furniture, and he was not pleased. He thumped a lot and left me a pile of poop in the middle of the floor. I took him to the vet. He wasn’t pleased. He left a pile of poop right next to the litter box. So CJ has said it with poo in the past.

I’m not sure what else to tell you, but I think I’d try to figure out why he’d be upset. I doubt it has to do with how often you change the litter. If he is out a lot, you might try confining him again until it gets under control. Sounds mean, but that’s how you litter train to begin with– start in a small space and work up to larger ones. It helped me when training to immediately take care of the pellets that don’t make it in the litter box by scooping them into it ASAP.

Have you been around other animals lately? New perfume? Did you change furniture around? Anything you can think of that may be different?

Hi yes my bunny is neutered….I am an at home bunny mom so he gets lots of attention…I finally locked him up for 1 1/2 day…all I could stand…he would not eat or drink the whole time he was locked up…little stinker…but he went in his litter box the whole time he was locked up…I let him out and he kept going to his box for about 1 week and now he is starting to chew and poop again all over again…No pee cause I check with vinegar right away..he goes to the box and pees…but will leave a pile of poop wherever he wants…making me nuts…
I hate locking him up cause he won’t eat..he just sits in the corner..and stares…
