So my husband called me as he was walking down our street.  Just a few houses down he saw two cats and a rabbit hanging out together running around freely but staying on one property.  The cats and rabbit came up to him and he began petting them. He picked up the bunny and knocked on the one of the homes and asked about the rabbit.  The people said it was their neighbors but that they are free to run around for a few hours.

I couldn't t believe it and had to go and check it out.  So I walked down the street to meet my husband and sure enough ttwo adorable healthy shiny friendly cats came up to greet me when I knelt, then a gorgeus healthy clean white bunny cautiously made his way over to observe.  As soon as he saw the cats were fine with us, he then ran over.    Then when they were done with their visit, they went back to the yard.

I knocked on the owners door, but no one answered.  I wanted  to ask "how, what, why, huh.?..and then include my dumbfounded sound "bidybidybidy"

You could tell all the animals were well taken care of, and of course I worry about predators and such, but I guess the neighbor told him that they have a safe place to hide during their time out.

I will bring my video camera there next time and film this as I am still baffled and plan on talking to the owners again.

there are actually many pets that are like that i know.

one story: my bf "had" 2 buns (until his mom made him give them to a relative because they caught fleas from the neighbor's dogs, he was 12 at the time and he is still touchy about it and is glad i got buns =P)but anyways, he took such good care of them they never thought about leaving. they would always get out of the backyard into the front but they never left the front yard, there was a gate around but it was wide enough for them to get through but they never did. it was pretty safe for them from preditors as well becuase there were many bushes to hide in but they loved him todeath that even when they did get out they never leave past the gate around the front yard. to add that there isnt anything blocking the driveway so it is wide open for them to run away but they dont.

second story: i had this neighbor down the street with this tiny dog. it is almost the size of a 3 lb bunny. i know, hes a runt (after 7 years he is still that size still, last time i saw him was 3 years ago). he is not that friendly with others so he would always come and bark at you from behind the gate. once while walking home i noticed that the gate was open (i was little and scared, ok... i was 12 but i was still little height wise) and the dog was outside and he saw me. so i knew he wasgoing to come and bark at me maybe chase me to bite me. i turned and ran but after a few feet i turned around because i didnt hear a close barking. the dog stopped right where the gate was supposed to close (the gate for a car to enter the driveway, it was wide open). not an inch past. there are times when i see him leave past but usually that is when his owner is there but at the time i was alone, no one was there and he didnt cross. i got up really close but i didnt pass and all he did was bark. it was like there was an invisible gate or something. i am still shocked to this day. wonder if the dog is still around, i no longer live there.
my name is Carolyn and my precious babies are 2 holland lops named Mochi and Emo and a uhh uhh not sure what he is.... but his name is Moogle
