  Hi everyone,
  
  My 6 year old Jersey Wooly, Kendyll, has some red, dry spots on her back feet. I’ve done some research and I’m wondering if it’s the beginning stage of sore hocks. She hasn’t been acting any differently, and they don’t seem infected. Just red and dry skin. The spots are covered by fur and I can only see them when I move the fur to the side. She has a large pen that has blankets at the bottom and I trim her nails frequently. She has a cardboard house that I bought from Binky Bunny that she likes to run up and down in and spend time in. What could be causing this? Do they seem bad enough to take her to my vet, or am I able to treat them at home? I have attached some images. Thank you for your help!

  No, I am consulting this forum right now. In my post I asked if this needs to be seen by a vet. I’m looking for people’s opinions.

  I agree with A&B. My rabbits had sore hocks just like those and the vet said they didn’t look like they needed to be treated, but it definitely made me feel better having a professional tell me that instead of me just worrying. What helped me get their hocks back to normal was firstly getting them on a schedule for trimming their nails cause I kept forgetting and buying them memory foam mats to go in their pens. I bought a bunch from ocean state job lot for $5 and i think Walmart sells them for $10. Sometimes just one layer of fleece isn’t enough to give them that cushion that they need. Put the mats in the places that they like to sleep and the places that they walk on often. Hope this helps you! It looks like she has a lot of fur there so they should go away on their own once a few changes are made.
