I have a dresser that had been upcycled with paint and wallpaper. I come home today and somebun has not only chewed the wallpaper but it is nowhere to be found – it’s been eaten! Luckily only the top layer of paper has been eaten so no paste/glue would have been ingested. Should I be worried? Is wallpaper toxic? I didn’t upcycle it myself so I don’t know the details of the paper.

        Help!

A quick google search showed a spike in interest in non-toxic wallpaper in the UK back in 2010. I didn’t read any of the articles but I got the impression the majority of the concern was over old Victorian era houses.

I would think it’s probably about the same “toxicity level” as things like plaster boards or plastic etc. (which lots of bunnies chew and ingest). I know you can be a overly worried bunny mom, but I’d still say don’t worry and just monitor the poops and hay + water intake!

When we moved two years ago that place had wallpaper. The boys had their fill in a few days (obviously I wasn’t hand feeding it to them xD but you know what I mean!) and they were just fine.
