  My bunny is CONSTANTLY digging and chewing/eating things she shouldn’t. She has toys to play with but of course she chooses things she knows she shouldn’t. Any homemade activities you can share? Also, we are in the process of changing the top floor of her pen, we placed a soft mat on top and she already chewed a huge chunk out of it. Any suggestions to prevent her from chewing that mat?

  How often does she get to leave her pen? Boredom is usually linked with how much time a bun has out of their enclosure. My boys are particularly naughty if it’s been a long day and they haven’t been out to play. In general though, unfortunately having a bunny does mean digging and chewing. They’re normal bunny behaviors and it’s not really something you can train out of them, hence why it’s so important to bunny proof everything (even things you wouldn’t think of!). Things like clicker training, stuffing a toilet paper roll with hay, or having a ball with slits they have to move around to get pellets are all things that can help. Grass mats can also be a lifesaver.

  My girl gets a bug up her butt in the spring time and starts getting really destructive. The life saver for my carpets has been cardboard cat scratchers. She will direct all that energy to chewing those up instead of the floor!
  
  Cardboard boxes stuffed with paper are also a big hit for her to dig around in a shred.

  I tried this method for awhile. She did love it, but how do I get her not to pee in the box ?
