Hey guys! I’m really new to this forum so if anything is wonky please tell me! I’m moving again in a few months, and while my bunny Alice is very used to travel and is normally very relaxed with situations like this she does have an adjustment period when perminatly moving. She is spayed and has been for over a year, but has remained pretty territorial. After about a day or two in her new environment she digresses back into some of her old habits and feels the need to reastablish territory. She has a “safe zone” set up anywhere I take her that helps, but is there anything I can do to help her adjust that works for your buns? Alice has always been more aggressive, she was a rescue case that got returned three separate times, while she bonded very closely with me over time, I’d rather find ways to help her adjust better and avoid some her nastier old habits that only show up when she feels insecure.

Poor thing. Make sure you get some blankets and put them where is is most so they can get a lot of her scent on it, maybe like 4 or 5 blankets, then in the new place you can rub them over furniture and lay them out around the house so she smells herself and won’t be as territorial

My boys have moved around a lot, so they’re old pros at it by now, but there a few things you can do to make the transition a lot more smooth.

            1. Clean the litter box out only 1 day before you move. You want her to feel like some things are still specifically hers. So letting her have a slightly soiled box when you move in can do wonders.
            2. Rescue Remedy. I’ve never used it, but a lot of people have and have had success with it. It might help her with the settling in processes.
            3. Blankets. A few days before you move give her a blanket and let her mark it however she desires. While she’s getting used to the new space, lay the blanket(s) out throughout the new place that way she feels a bit more safe and not as territorial.
