I had to stop our bonding session this morning a bit sooner than expected because Mila figured out that I had tricked her into grooming Sprinkles with the old smooshed banana on the forehead trick. She licked the banana off and then after about 15 seconds got this horrified look on her face like “OMG I GROOMED THE OTHER RABBIT!!!”, hopped to the other side of the xpen, turned her tail to us, and thumped.  Smart little bunny was NOT amused at being tricked. Sprinkles was a tad confused as to why the thumping was happening but rolled with it.  I put them next to each other, gave them a minute of mutual grooming head pats, and ended the session so that Ms. Mila could go nurse her wounded pride in private. She’s fine and they are happy next to each other in their separate pens now, but OMG – the LOOK on her face!

Just had a two hour session.  They both napped, ate hay and flopped, as well as giving some good nose sniffs.  Mila is the more aggressive of the two these days – a few ears back moments but no big fights.  A couple of mild nip and runs.  I made the pen much larger today and ended the session when I started to get the “we’re done now” vibe from them both.  No fights though – just starting to give more “stink eye” if that makes any sense at all.  I’m going to give it another month but if I’m not getting progress then, I’m not sure what to do.
