Monty took a couple of bites out of the Ficus elastica leaf and inside of it is like a milky substance. https://en.wikip edia.org/wiki/Ficus_elastica

He didn’t eat much but I think it’s a poisonous plant (it is to cats and dogs anyway) so does he need to go to the vets asap or is it enough to keep an eye on him? Rabbits can’t throw up so what can the vets actually do if they eat something poisonous? Is there anything I could give him to settle his stomach just in case it’s a problem?

He’s eating, drinking, pooing and running around as normal so I’m not too worried right now but I thought I’d ask anyway. I honestly thought the plant was too high up for him to get to but he always proves me wrong!

          Rabbits are like that.

From what i can find, ficus elastica is mildly toxic. The sap is an irritant and can cause a skin rash. If your bun is acting just fine, eating and drinking etc, I think he’ll be ok. Frances Harcourt Brown says acute plant poisoning will usually manifest within 6 hours after ingestion. She also says plant poisoning is rare in rabbits.

My bun ate part of a fig tree (ficus carica) leaf during Christmas. Took a split second. I didn’t notice any ill effects.

Vets can give activated carbon for poisoning, but that only works as long as the ingested poison is still in the stomach. Once the poison has been absorbed, activated carbon wont do any good. If you are worried, call your vet and ask. They might just tell you to keep a close eye on him, since as you are saying, making a bun vomit isn’t an option.

Thanks, that stopped me stressing out too much and it’s good to know about the 6 hour thing. I kept an eye on him for most of the day and he’s perfectly fine!

Great to hear that he’s okay.
