        Hi everyone!
I’m about mid way through with bonding my 2 buns (9 month spayed girl Cinnamon and 5 month old neutered boy Truffle). I’m currently seeing all the right signs (I think) like self grooming, eating from a shared hay box, using the same litter tray, both flopping next to each other and some level of cuddles. What worries me is the grooming wars which seem to be going on a lot. They will both lower their heads at each other head to head to demand grooming but neither gives in. Truffle (5 month boy) is the more dominant one and has humped Cinnamon a lot when we first started and every now and then will still try to hump Cinnamon but nowadays she just hops away. Has anyone seen this sort of behavior result in a fight? Or is it likely that they are still sorting out dominance?

        Thanks for any help

          Hi there, welcome

Sounds like they are getting close, but haven’t quite sorted things out fully yet! You’ll want to see a decent amount of cuddling, and at least some grooming from both buns. What happens when a grooming request isn’t met? Do they end up snuggling? Or does one move away?

It’s not like every single grooming request has to be met (my pair is VERY demanding of each other in terms of grooming, so half the time they just fall asleep with their faces smooshed together lol), but you should see at least some! And if a request isn’t met it shouldn’t end in a scuffle or with too much fuss.

Not sure how long your sessions are, but with mine I didn’t get grroming breakthroughs until we were in pretty marathon sessions.
