Hey there! I have a very destructive little lop bunny and I’ve been trying to give him things to do to cut down on the damage to my carpet, baseboards, books, etc etc.

Recently I found some pictures of people who create digging boxes filled with sand or dirt for their buns… that seems like something he’d really enjoy, he’s always digging at the rugs and blankets. I’m just not sure what kind of soil to use. I don’t have much of a yard so I’d have to buy some…is garden soil okay? Topsoil? I don’t want to use sand because I just feel like it’ll get everywhere (more so than dirt). I’m assuming organic would be best but I know nothing about gardening or dirt types so if anyone can recommend a specific brand that would be wonderful!

          Hi!
The digging box stuff really depends on the bunny. You could use basically anything! I have a destructive little bun like you (he’s basically a little Denis the menace!) what I find works well isn’t really digging boxes as he destroys them within two minutes, but the woven sea grass chew mats. They keep the little guy out of trouble! And he’d chew at it for ages!!! I even give him a old cardboard box (with some holes cut in it) which he love to renovate! As your bun is always at carpets and blankets I’d give the mats a try! You be surprised how much fun a bun will have! Even using folded or squashed newspaper works too.

          Hope this helps! Xox
