Wood stove pellets... same as Equine bedding?

  Are wood stove pellets safe to use as bedding? I ran out of the Equine wood pelleted bedding and there are cheaper wood stove pellets at another store. I don’t know if there are any chemicals added to wood stove pellets.

  Wood stove pellets are safe to use as litter as long as they are the kind they don’t contain accelerants. The bag should list the ingredients, or it might say safe to use for animal bedding, or you could ask a store clerk if these pellets are plain ones.
  
  At Tractor Supply, the 40 pound bag of horse stall pellets is only $5.99. I doubt that wood stove pellets would be cheaper than that, if you are near a Tractor Supply.

  They were actually slightly cheaper a lowes but I have no idea if they have anything added to them, I’d have to search the bag to see

  Where I live in Ontario, woodstove pellets are also cheaper than equine bedding. It’s just important to get the all-natural ones, because aside from accelerants, some contain narly binding/glue that’s toxic.
