My lionhead had babies about 4-5 weeks ago, and since yesterday she’s been running from them as if she’s scared of them! They’ll try to get close and get a drink from her, and she’ll get really big eyed, shaky, and sprint away. She head butted two of them last night and stunned one of them for a few seconds. Is she trying to wean them aggressively? She’s also kind of skiddish with me today. She’s almost two years old and has always been very social and cuddly with me. For example, I fell asleep on the floor the other night playing with her kids and woke up to her under my arm sleeping against me on her side. But tonight she just skidders away from us. Did I do something wrong? I love her and want her to be ok with me and her kids?

It does sound like she is getting overwhelmed by them now that they’re bigger.

Are they all in same cage or pen? Is there an area she can go where they can’t get to?

There could be some hormone changes when her milk production slows that makes her act differently.

Or she could be pregnant again if she was with an intact buck anytime after she birthed this litter.
