Hi guys,
I’m currently in the process of bonding my two rabbits. Everything’s going well, they were completely indifferent for a while except the female would every now and then go into aggressive stance with her ears pinned back and ready to lunge and nip the male. We did a stress bonding session followed by a regular bonding session and that helped a lot, they were cuddling and grooming each other and she didn’t try to nip him once. However in our bonding session today i noticed that if he runs up to her to give her a sniff she’ll often get her aggressive stance again and i’m not sure if this is just something that will come with time or not? She’ll also try really hard to request grooming by shoving her head under his chin and nipping him gently to groom her but he just won’t get it and i think this frustrates her quite a lot. She’ll groom him and i’ve seen him groom her once or twice but other than that he just wont do anything and will just refuse to lift his head above hers to groom. There has also been no mounting at all in the process so far and i’m just hoping i’m doing this right
does anyone have any tips on how to get him to groom her? i’m just worried him not doing anything is affecting their progress. -

Sometimes they just need more time, as it sounds like they have made some progress. Not all buns mount in the bonding process, so no problem with that. How long have you been working with them? How long are the sessions so far, and how many sessions?
