“Mental Floss: The Woman Who Gave Birth to Rabbits”

Warning: This story is rather unsettling for rabbit lovers but… honestly, I think we can all admit the 18th century was a heckin’ weird time.

How bizarre! Fascinating though. It stopped people from eating rabbits for a while at least. But so extremely sad. Poverty so deep it’s hard to imagine.

O.o Well… I am not sure what to say about that. Fiction can never be as weird as reality. You couldn’t make this stuff up. Or at least, the story she made up isn’t nearly as crazy as what she was actually doing haha.

I had to hit my head to make sure I wasn’t going insane…

                      That was… peculiar.

I’m having trouble reading the article in the original link (it’s no one’s fault, I just keep getting ads that never want to go away and it’s making my web browser run slower) and went on a search and found the Wikipedia link and I’d thought I’d share it for those that are interested/curious but are having trouble with the article and can’t seem to find the story. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Toft

Back then there were lots of strange and odd things going on, my great grandma told me this story and explained it to me, some magical tricks back then were not nice, not something we would expect to see on TV or at a show today, I knew what it was about as soon as I read the title of the thread, I am sure you know how she did it, as a retired Nurse and Midwife I will give you some advice. ‘Don’t try this at home!’
