Hello everyone, it’s been a while. I have been busy with school and such. Anyway, that isn’t the topic. So just today I have switched beddings from carefresh to horse stall bedding. I have never switched litters before so I don’t know how the normal reaction to that. Let me give you a breakdown of what happened, so I changed her litterbox she didn’t use it at all, then at around 9 pm she peed on the carpet. That is an unusual thing because Lilikoi is completely litter trained. I went to pick her up and put her in her litterbox she started using it after a few thumps and escapes, but I am going to stay up to spy on her to see if she starts using it again. Let’s just say she didn’t, what would I do? If any of you had an experience with this before and would like to share tips thank you very much.

Is she doing any better now? I think it’s likely she doesn’t like the litter. Maybe you could try reducing the old, adding the new gradually? I’ve never switched litters so someone else might have better advice.

So far I did something that worked, I think. I covered the bedding with hay and she jumped right back in, I would say she is fine so far, I’m still going to spy on her a little bit to make sure she is back to her old habit of naturally using the litter box 100% of the time. I will experiment with different methods. So far this one has worked. I will update if anything interesting pops up but for now, I’m fine.
