        Hello Everyone,

I am new too owning bunnies and I purchased one and rescued a few more that someone didn’t want anymore,

she told me their birthdate and breed but I don’t think it can be correct.

These are the weights of the bunnies and their breed

Willow (Doe) weighs- 520grams -DOB 28/08/2018- Dwarf Lop

        Monty(Buck) weighs-971grams- DOB 23/07/2018- Dwarf Lop

        Emerson(Buck) weighs- 549grams- DOB 23/08/2018- Mini Lop

Thumper( Buck) Weighs- 819grams- DOB 1/09/2018- Mini Lop (suspicious about this one)

Coconut (Doe) weighs- 802grams- DOB 1/09/2018- Mini Lop (suspicious about this one)

Apparently I thought That mini lops are smaller in size then the dwarf but the last two bunnies on here are the youngest and meant to be mini but are quite large.

        Help

Sadly none of these bunnies should really be away from mom right now. Bunnies should not go home until they are 8 weeks old. I highly suggest getting them to a bunny-savvy vet to have them have an overall physical. Bunnies under 6 weeks really shouldn’t be getting more than mom’s milk and hay. After 6 weeks good quality pellets should be introduced. Please do not give these bunnies any fruits or veggies yet as their gut flora can’t handle it. You’re going to need to monitor them and their poops. A lot of bunnies at this age that are improperly weaned can become fatally sick, so it’s important to keep a strict diet with them and monitor them constantly. Lastly, they all need separate enclosures, especially as you have a variety, and they will be hitting hormones any time after 8 weeks. At this time bunnies will only want to fight and mate, and bunnies can fight to the death.

As for breeds, in the US holland lops are 3-4 pounds, false dwarf holland lops are 5 pounds, and mini lops are 6 pounds. I believe in the UK holland lops are considered mini lops and mini lops are dwarf lops.

I hope this helps you some

Thankyou for your advice, I believe they are too young to be away from mum also.

I have been keeping a good eye on them and they seem to be drinking well eating oaten hay and their pooping has been good. I really hope they don’t get sick and they are separated. The Does are together until I can set them up individual cages and the males are separate from the does and other bucks.

I check them every hour as i’m a stay at home mum which helps at the moment, they seem really good but I will be keeping a good eye on them till they are older.
