  I am a teacher aide during my open block at school and the teacher I aide for has 2 rabbits in her classroom in those very small hutches, bigger than a pet store cage but smaller than minimum. she buys very small bags of hay and the rate she gives them hay a 1 pound bag of hay lasts the 2 rabbits a month, maybe more. and she gives lectures on proper care yet she doesn’t even care for them right! they get NO time out of the cage and they are on wire floors. Any ways i can try to get those rabbits SOME proper care because I know how upsetting it can get telling people they are taking care of their pets wrong.

  I would hope a teacher would be open to hearing other opinions regarding rabbit care. It may be worthwhile to refer her to the Bunny Info portion of this website for diet information. If she gives lectures on proper care, it is important that she understands what proper care is. Perhaps she’d be open to sitting with you so you can “update” her on what people have learned about rabbit care in the recent decade. I know numerous teachers are overworked, so maybe offering to take initiative and make a handout/presentation for her so she doesn’t actually need to go through the research herself, but when you’re done, she’s able to look over everything and learn.

  I would suggest printing out the care guide from here or anyplace that has good care guides, and give them to her.
