Recently my bunny has been escaping from his cage. I woke up one morning to him on my bed, I went over to his cage to figure out if I had left it unlocked or if he broke some of the nic grids apart, everything was locked and put together. Again, this morning my boyfriend and I woke up to Mochi outside our door. His cage was still locked and everything was put together. I’m wondering how he got out… the cage is 2 feet tall or 2 nic grids tall. Maybe he was on top of his cardboard box and jumped on the back of the couch? Because his home is set up against the back of the couch. Why would he be doing this? I’ve noticed it happens when I don’t wake up at 8am to feed him.. maybe he’s escaped to tell me to feed him? I find it funny that he does this, but also scared that he might hurt himself!

I think 2ft is easy to overcome for a rabbit. Not mine, mine forget that they have the ability to jump lol but some can jump 4ft I think? You could make a roof – just drape a blanket over the top and secure with clips of some kind. That should stop him!

That’s very low. My Muffin easily jumps over 70 cm. I recommend hanging a sheet over the top or something, this helps to keep my bunny inside for me.

As the others have already said, 2ft is pretty low. My bunny is a very small Netherland Dwarf and he managed to jump over his barrier a number of times lol: https://www.instagram.com/p/BidOpcoFmey/?taken-by=kurotta.bun

If your bunny is a bigger breed then it’s even easier. Like Daisy said, try clipping a sheet over the top
