I just thought I’d pop in here really quick before bed. I want to say that I understand the loss of a beloved pe- no, a beloved family member, a beloved friend. I hope I don’t sound insensitive or hurtful because that’s the last thing anyone needs, I would like to say that you will get through this hard time. It may take a while and that’s OK, you need to grieve in your own timeline (as in you need to take however long you need to grieve), that’s how you heal. I said this to others and I hope I don’t sound pushy but if you want or need to talk to someone I’m here for you. My inbox is always open as is this post. I wish you all the very best and my animals and I are sending you lots of love. And for your lost loved ones, I wish them to rest easy and in peace. Religious or not, my prayers are with you all.❤

Thank you so much, I really appreciate this post. I just lost my first bunny, my sweet Athena, after over 9 years together, and I am pretty beside myself. She seemed healthy and happy up until 2 days before she passed, so I was really not prepared. She leaves behind her husbun of 9+ years, Teddy, and I am so heartbroken for him too.

Anyway thank you for your support, and if you have any advice on how to get through this, that would be great. I’ve been sobbing most of the past few days.

I really hope this works, I’m having some issues with replying (and sending) to e-mails and messages on various websites. Anyway I am so so so sorry for your loss and I don’t have much advice so I’m sorry if it sounds weird or insensitive, that is the very last thing I want to happen. The most important thing to remember is that grieving takes time. To quote one of my favorite songs “it’s ok to hurt and it’s ok to cry”. This may sound weird but something that helped me when my first 2 hamsters passed away I got dog tags with their names, dates they became part of our family and their death date and I put it on a necklace chain so they could always be near my heart and honestly I’m thinking of making them keychains so I can always bring them with me; Maybe doing something like that could help? Something else that helped me when I was a kid with the stray cats and kittens was watching/listening to The Land Before Time so maybe watching a movie can help for a short time? I’m sorry, I’m not being very helpful. But again the best thing to remember is that grief and healing takes time so give yourself that time. I know this will sound insensitive but with some people getting another bun helps them through something like this and I’m not throwing shade or dissing them I’m just trying to say it might help you as well; I don’t know, you know you the most I’m simply trying to give some suggestions but they’re probably horrible ones since I never lost a rabbit but I have lost hamsters and stray cats/kittens like I said earlier. I’m sorry I couldn’t have been of more help. I’m sending you lots of love and prayers.❤?(This emote is the closest I could find to a virtual hug. ?)
