I’m just curious what experience members of the community have when it comes to grooming in bonded pairs, do most people see one way grooming? Mutual? None? It seems like it’s really just a case by case thing. My pair that I’m working on bonding just started grooming each other (bringing much delighted squeals) and so far it’s only been one way.

I have a trio, and while I would say I see one of the bunnies doing more grooming than the other two (he’s just a licky bunny, always has been), they all still groom each other at various times

For the first few months Harley would groom Thumper and that was it. Recently Thumper has started to groom Harley back.

Guinness and Bleu both groom each other, sometimes mutually (scandalous!), but Guinness is definitely more demanding than Bleu. She’ll groom him without prompting but she often will shove herself right under him and wait for him to give in.

I’m brand new to this, and didn’t really know how to post anything. Anyway, I have a one year old Holland Lop male (neutered) and a 3 month old Holland Lop female due to be spayed in a couple of months. Right now they are living in separate puppy pens, side by side, but a little bit apart because the male (Skipper) kept sticking his face through to be loved, but Holly barbered his face. He just wants to be loved, and he licks her any chance he gets. They are out of their pens together for hours. There is no fighting, much interest in being near each other, but she has never licked him yet. They both go immediately into each other’s pens, he eats her baby food, and she does her business in his litter box. I am hoping that after she is spayed that I can put them together, but am a little worried that she doesn’t groom him (properly anyway) Any thoughts?
