Sooooooo Joey is proving to be a bit of a two faced bun. To your face she is sweet and chill and just the best bun ever.

Turns out she has a dark side.

        A very dark side…

        Lol.

I was letting her run around my bedroom while I cleaned her cage. She was quiet. No big deal. She’s always quiet. I left to grab one of her blankets out of dryer. I came back to a murder.

A mattress murder… Dun dun dun.

This rabbit BURROWED inside of my mattress!!

I’m not sure how to feel. One one hand it is hilarious because I had to literally cut my mattress open to drag her big booty out. On the other hand SHE BURROWED INSIDE OF MY MATTRESS and now I have to sleep on the couch until I can afford a new mattress!!!!

I thought about taking a picture of her stuck inside of my mattress but my mama instincts kicked in and I pulled her out.

RIP mattress you were expensive and my wallet hurts.

RIP your mattress. I’m not laughing……..I’m not…….,much. Sorry, it’s a terrible thing, I’ve got a destroyed couch, but it’s still funny.

LOL! I can safely say my couch is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on in my life. I don’t think I’d be mad if she decided to burrow into it.

                  So….she’s like any other bunny?

You should see my couch since getting Elara. And the couch covers we then bought to protect the couch. Let’s just say she’s lucky that when I get animals, they are for life….

There is a fitting and very funny (not for the easily offended or anyone who doesn’t like swearing) group on FB I’m in called “Bunnies are ***holes.”

LPT when I had Pacey the underside of my couch didn’t exist. LOL. I lifted it to clean one day and the entire bottom had been hollowed out!

I use couch covers for my cats and dogs and so far Joey hasn’t bothered them *knock on wood*…

I am totally checking out that group. I’m already part of one “Cats are ***holes!”

Joey is a cord chewer in the two weeks I’ve had her she has chewed through 2 cord protectors and destroyed my laptop power cord and my desk lamp cord!

Oh, my…..that would have been a surprise. Elara has only been after the cushy pillowy parts so far….She digs and bites the cushions. But she’s also done some remodeling on our rug. Just one corner, but now we have to hide the corner of the rug under the couch. Sigh..She doesn’t seem interested in cords or remote buttons, at least (also knocking on wood). She really likes to eat anything paper or cardboard. And crayons….

Young Bindi….he was a match for anything with a cord. And Stormy had a taste for remote buttons. Delicious, chewy remote buttons.

I’ll have to check out that cat group. I’ve definitely had A-hole cats before, lol, but not Kyle. There is not a mean bone in his body. He is just like sugar.

I learned a long time ago to keep my remotes far far away from bunny teeth. Joey LOVES cords and she can get through cord protectors like they aren’t even there! So now I unplug anything and everything when she is out.

As for cats all 3 of mine are a-holes. My youngest cat will look at me and knock things off of my shelves.

This made me lol. I love watching those cats are jerks vids on Youtube. The one cat that trips his person going down the stairs…..so on purpose…

My couch is safe. I suggest finding a “hamster fence” and blocking off around the bottom. I found one on kijiji for $10. You can use c&c cage peices around your bed when you bring home a new one, lots of those on kijiji too.

I definitely learned my lesson regarding my couch with my first rabbit. Not only does my current couch sit very low to the ground but I do indeed use a hamster fence (it’s my hedgehogs) to block it off.

But never in a billion years would I think a rabbit would burrow inside of my mattress. LOL.

BEEN THERE! I had my back door open and I have some steep stairs leading to my back patio. My oldest cat dashed in between my feet right as I took a step and I fell head first down the stairs. I bruised 3 ribs and my entire chest was black and blue. Jerk.

Dang! We are so going to have to take a look at those videos… right now we always watch the try not to laugh and cute cat vids…we are definitely going to enjoy watching cats demean their hoomans simply because they felt like it!

By the way, MY SOFA JUST GOT CHEWED! And when I turned my back to assess the damages, I turned around to find BunBun face deep in my bowl of oatmeal!

Could she have been working the distraction technique all along? Lol

Ah the old bait and switch! LOL.

I had a rabbit named Marshmallow who would often get into something and while I was busy cleaning up that mess she would sneak into the kitchen and steal bananas from the counter.

Just do not punish the rabbit!
I also had a situation in my childhood with my grandfather on the farm.
We slept in the guest house, and next to them were the voliary with rabbits. A little one of them managed to escape, and I noticed one. When he gnawed a new mattress at my feet. That was good queen size mattress with sawdust inside.
                                        All the best

There was a single tiny tear in my mattress and it was laundry day so my sheets were in the washer. I left for like 5 minutes tops and came back to a bunny mattress.

oh gosh, all these stories. When I still lived with my mum I named our bun Rascal (who now just lives with her) but oh my did he live up to that name. He managed to get up into the couch… and got stuck, so we had to cut open the back of the couch to get him out. (My mum said I’m not allowed to name the animals anymore…)

LOL this is the first time I’ve had to cut open furniture to get an animal out.

But I did have to completely tear out a floor in my shed when a stray dog had 11 puppies under there and then couldn’t get to them once she left! That was an adventure. I was so afraid I was going to hit one while pulling the floor up.

haha, that may have been the second thing we had to cut open to get an animal out. My brother and I shared 3 degus, the cage was left open or not latched properly one day. We found the first 2 fairly easy but it took us hoouuurrs to find the third (coincidentally the one which was mine.) We actually ended up calling a family friend who lived down the street to bring her dog over to sniff him out. He kept going to the wall behind a cabinet which we had already thoroughly checked. Turns out the cover for the plug had been removed since my dad was doing some electric work. The poor thing was so petrified we had to cut out a much larger square of the wall to pull him out. oh Snocap, bless his little heart.

oh! Poor mama dog!! Lucky you were there to help her with that. That does sound panicking to not hit one of them, super adorable though, so many puppies!
