After a happy day in the garden yesterday, and a tum full of home grown broccoli for tea yesterday evening, Latte made his way over the rainbow bridge overnight, to join his piggy friends, Chocco, Silky and Grace, and his bunny friends, Pippi and Rusty.

Like Pippi, Latte looks like he died very peacefully in his sleep, certainly, there was nothing obviously wrong with him yesterday.

He was a good age for a piggy, he would have been six in October

I’m sorry about the loss of Latte. It’s nice that he had such a happy day yesterday.

Wow G.J so sorry you lost another family member! It’s nice he went peacefully like you said. And with a full tummy after a good long life. Sorry about your loss regardless. I like the little white tuft on his head. So cute.

Thanks. That white tuft is what got him his name. Its nice he went out on a happy note, as did Pippi. Only 7 weeks apart is hard thoough. Its a very subdued household today. My sons are both gutted, we had Latte since he was 10 weeks old.

He was the only noisy member of the fluffle, so the silence is painfully loud today

I’m sorry for your loss. Latte was loved by many BB members. How he survived the loss of his pawtner Chocco and the big growth he had to have removed. How he had a color-connection with Podge.

He was a very lucky piggy. I can only imagine how much his vocalizations must be missed in your household ?

ETA: Sorry I first called him a bunny, I’ve corrected it now. He was an important part of a bunny fluffle, so it wasn’t completely inaccurate.

If Latte were here, he would respectfully point out that originally piggies outnumbered bunnies in this house, and that even when I joined BB, we had an even four/four, and that all four piggies moved in long before any of the bunnies, so he always maintained that the bunnies were honorary members of a piggy fluffle and not vice versa! However he would fully agree he was the fluffle’s most important member!

Once he was the only piggy, he always claimed first dibs on any nom noms based on first come first served, and he came here first…

It has been a very long day

I love hearing about your crew, “The Fluffle” as it were. It’s sad, of course, but it’s so sweet the way you talk about them all. It really warms my heart simultaneously bringing tears to my eyes. Such a wonderful family of beings over there.

Hard to think six have crossed the rainbow bridge in just under three years since we joined BB ;( four piggies and two buns

I guess that’s the cost of giving so many a home…

Keeping the buns in today, we’ve storms forecast for later on, and I want their company, the house is just too quiet

Podge and Latte always had a friendly bond, and were refered to by some on here as ‘a pair of fashionistas’ due to their amazing combination of colour and hair style coordination. Latte’s run was always placed close to Podge’s when they were outside, especially after Chocco crossed the rainbow bridge.

Podge seems to have realised his little pal is missing and is just sat looking at me, with a very ‘ok, where is he’ look on his face

Oh, Podge! That truly is an “ok, where is he?”-look.

Taking in many animals inevitably means more losses. But all of the lost ones had wonderful lives with you.

Yes that looks like a look of trying to figure things out. Poor Podge. Fashionista indeed! So perfectly symmetrical in that picture. Makeup and hair done perfect! He is so adorable! Those cheeks too! He’s killing it, just cuteness perfection!

I still haven’t really got used to gattering forage for 6 instead of 7, never mind only 5

Everybun got generous portions of dandelion leaves from the front garden tonight not that the buns are complaining…

Oh J !!!!!!! I am so so sorry to hear about Latte, and yes far too soon after Pippi, but as you say that’s the problem of having so many is that invariably there will always be departures.
But both overnight shocks…. not a nice feeling waking up.

                                              So sorry…. ((( hugs )))

Dear little Latte. Such a spunky piggie. Im sorry for this sad time, GJ.

Sending love to Podge. He’s been a good support for Latte. It’s very very sweet.

R is for remarkably unique. I know that probably if you’ve seen one bunny, then there is at least one if not several others out there that look just like them. But in my limited bunny experience, Podge is so very unique in appearance with his markings and his hair. With his hair and head he can stand there and transform himself into a ball with toes and ears. Do you “do” his hair? Do you trim it so or does it grow like that around his head so perfect “au naturel”? The circumstances are sad at the moment but even in such he is sooo darn cute!

Podge’s hair gets trimmed a couple of times a year to keep it out of his eye, otherwise that is his natural look. He seems to have finally acepted Latte has gone, at least he hasn’t sat waiting this morning that I’ve seen.

My youngest still hasn’t come home from uni, when he does, he will have to face the double blow of missing Pippi and Latte.

A quick check of the photo albums suggests we have had piggies in the house since 2005, so it really will seem quiet to him without a weeek when he opens fridge door or rustles a bag. Me and my eldest are stll getting used to it…

I know a couple of them have gone on now but what a wonderful bunch. There isn’t an adjective that does justice to the amount and quality and uniqueness of cuteness. You treated them so well. Those two look totally happy and engaged in life. Beautiful picture in so many ways.
