  I have just got back from a weeks holiday and Finns humping has gotten worse. Myrtle is honking and not happy about it.
  
  If I am unable to get some kind of solution I will have to rehome Myrtle as I cannot keep two bunnies in separate cages all of the time.
  
  It doesn’t seem to matter how long they are parted for, Finn just starts to hump. Its not aggressive, its very slow moving but Myrtle can’t seem to move near or around him without him humping. Myrtle is still destructive and I am just getting a bit fed up of it all.
  
  This isn’t dominance humping, this seems to been instinct humping. Both have been fixed awhile ago and where fine before I went away.

  Hi!
  I would try bonding dates, keep them separated but very close to each other for a week or so and do many bonding dates a day, sometimes bunnies need a break from each other and then they will come back together better than before.

  Thanks, i parted them last night to give Myrtle a break. I have been told its Spring Fever and a lot of people are having the same issue.
  
  I did notice that Myrtle has not been as destructive since parting them. Maybe she’s annoyed at the humping.

  Hi Emma, sorry havent followed your story. How long ago was Finn neuteured ? In my Henry’s experience (he was just veeeery energetic, a live wire and wanting to break out of his cage!) it took up to 6 months to see a difference. He calmed down after a few months and then chilled out more and became a good (if still very ‘on alert, thumpthump’) husbun !

  What do you mean it’s not dominance humping but instinct humping?

  Dominance humping is a little more aggressive i find….with Finn its almost like his a zombie just doing it because she’s either in front of him or sat near him. His not chasing her all of the time, but she’s making a big deal out of it. Plus it would have been going on to long for dominance humping….unless its takes longer then 4 months…
  
  Finn has been neutered nearly a year now. Myrtle about 5 months.

  Ah okay. I mean, I still think it could be dominance. Maybe he’s a bit insecure and wants to be absolutely certain that he’s top bun? As you mentioned before, it could also be partly due to the spring. I actually read somewhere that bonding is more difficult during spring time because of possible ‘spring fever’
  
  Have you got a stuffy you could give him that smells like Myrtle? Perhaps he can get some of it out of his system on the stuffy and not have to annoy Myrtle.
