        Hello

Just thought this would be fun to post so some of you guys can list what you do for your daily rabbit routines. Since I got Toby not so long ago, I’m still working on my routine. It’s pretty different each day but I’m still working on it. Not all of us have the same schedule but either way, it’s still good to get some ideas and tips

          Weekdays
          5:30am: 1/8-1/4 cup pellets, water+hay top up
          6:30pm: greens feeding
7:00pm: each boys alternates in 1:15 increments
12:00am (2:00am on Friday): refill hay, clean+fill water dishes
          Weekends I’m home all day
          9:00am: 1/8-1/4 cup pellets, water+hay top up
9:30am-2:00am (Sunday night bed is at 12:00am): each boy typically gets equal time out. I don’t measure on these days, they tend to do it themselves.
          8:00pm: greens
Weekends I’m not home all day:
          9:00am: pellets, water+hay
5:00pm-2:00am (Sunday night bed is at 12:00am): take turns out
          8:00pm: greens

In the mornings the rabbits are given their hay. We have horses as well so they are just given what the horses are given. Then at night at around 5 the rabbits are given their pellets. 1/2 cup per rabbit. they are also given fresh water and more hay if needed. Then they are given there veggies!

              Good idea, mschoonover!

5:30 AM, Hear Olaf rattling his door. Let him out in a blurry, staggering morning haze. Zoomies and time to remind the crinkle tunnel who’s boss.
6:30 AM, Feed greens and 1 tbsp. pellets. Snuggle on the couch.
9:00 AM, Get ready for work and let him play until he gets a baby carrot and fresh hay before I leave.
1:00 PM, Lunch visit. Usually parsley and some good head scritches.
5:00 PM, Home and dinnertime. Greens. Run around and flop time.
8:00 PM, More snuggles and 1 tbsp. pellets.
10:00 PM, Bedtime. Baby carrot and fresh hay.

                Weekdays
7.30am : Let Kurotta out and check on hay/water (refill if needed)
6.00pm : Give a few treats and some trick training
9.00pm : Clean litter box, cage and play pen
Before sleep (time varies) : Refill hay and pellets

Weekends are pretty much the same routine but the timing will be different (since I wake up later etc).

Every night Kurotta will go into the cage on his own once he hears the sound of pellets clanking into his bowl. He will then go into a routine of eating pellets – drinking water – loafing/lounging in his cage along with squinted sleepy eyes. That’s when I close the cage door and say goodnight

My bunnies have free range, so I come into the living room around 6:30/7 and start singing the lettuce song and give them about 4 cups of spring mix. They go NUTS! Binkying bunnies all around. Change water. Fill hay. 7:30. I split a carrot between them when I leave.
They hang, eat hay, drink water all day.
Some days I’m home by 4, others (if I have class it’s 8). I’ll cuddle and play with them. A few treats are given to gain their love.

9/10 more lettuce songs and feedings. Hay top off. Fresh water.

They get a scoop of pellets every few days. Or if one of them escapes into the other room, a shake of the pellets gets him back in. Kale and fresh herbs when I have them available.

BAHAHAH OMG Pinknfwuffy – I thought my bunny was the only one to do this (my boy doesn’t) but OMG she just attacks that crinkle tunnel hahahah

Ok, so for me (this will change after they are spayed/neutered and then bonded as they will be free roaming then.
                      Weekdays:
7am – Feed daily pellets, clean and fill water bowl and top up hay
                      7:30am – leave for work
5 pm – home from work and let one of them out and top up hay and water.
7-7:30pmpm – give the one who’s out his veggies for bonding time and then put them back and let the other one out and then give that one their veggies for bonding time.
9:30-10pm – Put bunny to bed, top up hay and re-fresh water… then I go to bed lol

                      Weekends:
Same as above, except the bunny’s alternate coming out through out the day.

I’m enjoying reading your routines! I work 5-7am then 1-5pm so I work my bun routines around that. I have three buns but they’re not bonded, so I split play time between them all equally (one is free range downstairs and the other two live in a room upstairs).

7:30am — Pellets, hay, water, good mooorning
                        9am — litter tray cleaning
Midday — fresh veggie snack (kale, collards, etc.)
                        6pm — fresh greens
8pm — Hay top-up, water, pellets for other
10pm — Final checks and fussing before bedtime

I try to give them approximately a million head rubs each. This target may or may not be reached.

Well, these are my basic daily tasks:

Mornings: (VERY early because I have to catch an early morning commuter train):

                          1) Greet Panda and Fernando
                          2) Gently shoo them back into their condo if they haven’t already scampered inside – they’re getting pretty good at learning how to do this as part of the morning routine
                          3) Refresh their hay and water
                          4) Get them their morning pellets
                          5) Give them their morning treat (Oxbow Simple Rewards cookie or dried banana piece)
                          6) Talk to them and fuss over them while I’m getting myself ready for the day
                          7) Tell them goodbye and to be good bun-buns

Evenings: (starting around 5:30 pm most weekdays)
                          1) Say hello to Panda and Fernando as I walk in the door
                          2) Refresh their hay and water
                          3) Give them their evening greens
                          4) Give them dessert (Simple Rewards cookie or banana again)
                          5) Set up the X-pen and let the buns out
                          6) Spend time on the floor inside the X-pen interacting with them
                          7) Give them their evening snack of oats
                          8) After more chat and fuss, tell them good night

Every two to three days, I empty out their litterbox and put in fresh litter.

Every Saturday afternoon is cleaning day. I brush out both floors of their condo and wipe down the lower level thoroughly with white vinegar, and also clean out the litterbox with white vinegar, before refilling it and their water bowl. Their food and water bowls are washed regularly as needed. I also try to groom them (not very successfully most of the time, they’re pretty skittish of the Hair Buster comb and Love Glove but I keep trying!) Also on weekends, they get to stay out in the X-pen a few hours longer than on weekdays.

Stumble out of bed, into the kitchen to get out bag of fresh grass from fridge. Rinse fresh grass in a strainer. Serve wet fresh grass to impatient periscoping bunny.

Then breathe and make coffea =)

3:00 PM – VEGGIES!! Also crazy bunny time – lots of zoomies and binkies and of course playtime
Somewhere from 3-9 pm (depends on the day) 4 hrs of playtime
10:00 – bunny goodnight kisses and hay/water refill

We are pretty new to having a bunny (about two months) so the routine has been evolving. At first it was the intention to have Bunnius in her enclosure when we weren’t around and to just let her out when we could observe her, but that lasted less than a week and she was just so content being out and so irritated at being put away that now she is just out except at night.
So, our routine is as follows. She’s let out in the morning. Her enclosure is in my daugher’s room and my daughter will bring her out or I will go get her (totally happy to come over and be picked up to get brought to the living room. The same cannot be said for when it is time to go back) Hay is topped up and pellets put in bowl. She then spends the entire day out and about. She has declared our coffee table her den and has dragged several things under there that are now hers (small blanket, couple of toys, an apple stick, etc.) Basically just lounges or frolics all day long. Follows the cats and kids around. Jumps up on the couches, especially if cats or kids are on them. Pesters the cats until they hide from her. Some time in the evening the kids will feed her fresh veggies. At night suffers the indignity of being put back in her enclosure, but once in it settles down immediately and conks out. Then repeat.

                                    Weekdays:
7:00 Give bunny fresh hay and half of Simple Rewards cookie
8:00-4:00 Bun stays in cage because I’m at school. Hopefully, after Rain’s spay, she can be let out while I’m at school, because this is just unfair to her.
4:00 Let bun out, fresh veggies and tablespoon of pellets.
8:00 More veggies and another tablespoon of pellets
11:00 Other half of Simple Rewards cookie and bun goes back in cage for night time.
                                    Weekends:
9:00 Wakeup and let impatient bun out and go back to sleep until 10
10:00 Table spoon of pellets and whole cookie
                                    2:00 fresh greens
                                    6:00 table spoon of pellets
                                    10:00 fresh greens and pellets
12: another cookie and go back in cage.
On weekends, I just kind of don’t have a schedule for her, and I throw in an extra treat just because. Lol.
That’s basically it! I fit in four hours of playtime with her. Unfortunately, school’s been tougher this month because of the standardized tests their giving us, so less time with Rain.

Bring Char back into her room, refresh water dish, top off hay, give a treat and scatter a tsp of pellets around the room for foraging, give a pet and leave for school (during the week).
During the week home between 5 and 8
Go straight to Charlie’s room when I get home for some love, a hay top off, and a tsp of pellets
I have dinner and make her salad and then go back upstairs
Bring her into my room on the bed or leave doors open for her to wander around while I shower and she eats her salad
Do homework and lay with her giving lots of love for a few hours – usually in bed by midnight
Right before I go to bed, call her into her room, give some more pellets, top off hay, refresh water, give a treat and a pet and say goodnight
About 15 minutes after I put her to bed I’ll hear bunny 500’s – even though all she did all night with me was flop and relax
Do it all over again the next day

8:00 is my earliest day – some days I leave more like 10:00, just depends on my class schedule. I’m home much more Thursday-Sunday so she spends a lot more time with me vs. in her room. Pretty much if I’m home, she’s out of her room and with me or hopping all around upstairs.

She isn’t caged, so she is always ‘free roam’ but I like to give her the extra space I can’t trust her in while I’m in class, when I’m here.

She’s super food motivated so she gets a few (literally a few, like 6 or 7) pellets every time I go into her room – it’s the only way I don’t feel bad leaving her – keeps her busy and not watching me walk out – I’m ridiculous

Sunday is cleaning day, so she gets relocated to another room for a bit because she’s offended I would dare vacuum her room

Fun to read how everyone else does it!

My schedule varies, depending on how many days i’m working that week. Typically i work 3 minimum.

-Wake up at about 10am, snuggle my dog ( Moon ) next to me and look over at Onyx’s cage to see what needs to be done first.

-10:15am, i fix up his cage. Scooping poop into the litter box and cleaning up any pee puddles around the cage.

-10:30am, i pour him 1/8 cup of Oxbow young bun pellets and refill the water if its empty.

-11:00am, after im done getting ready i give him some pets and talk to him a little bit. Just lounge around with him for a few minutes.

                                          -11:30am, i leave for work.

-Between 4 and 5 i get home and check up on him.

-7:00pm he gets about a cup of green leaf lettuce or romaine. Lately its been Green Leaf, and sometimes a handful of spinach or kale. He may also get a baby carrot at that time.

-After he finishes his greens, he gets let out to run around my room. That usually lasts until about 2am when i stumble into bed, after encouraging him back into his cage.  The weekends are typically the same, except he gets more running around time.

5:30am on weekdays, between 5:30 and 7:30am on weekends: Feed probiotic pellets. Hand feed Peanut, scatter feed Buttercup. Change water bowl and fill with fresh water. Top up hay in litter boxes. Pet them and talk to them, usually ask them why there are poops flung across the room and more recently ask why there’s poop in their dig box ? Go back to sleep for a few hours, on and off because I hear them sprinting, throwing cups around, tearing up cardboard and digging. Just listen to them having the time of their lives

Between 1:30pm and 3:30pm: Clean litter boxes. Empty poops off the litter box grate. Throw any hay that’s soiled and scoop out soiled litter. Refill with more litter and top up hay. Every Saturday, entire contents get completely dumped and grates get washed. Attempt to put litter boxes down but spend ages waiting for bunnies to move from the designated litter box spot ?

5:30pm on weekdays and between 5:30pm and 7:30pm on weekends: Give fibafirst sticks and groom each bun whilst they eat. Give one or two pieces of dried chicory root as a treat. Play find the dandelion. Top up hay.

Between 9pm and 10pm: Top Up hay. Place dried leaves or flowers in hay to encourage foraging. Watch them frantically gobble up the leaves whilst ignoring the hay. Change water.

Right before going to sleep: Final hay top up.

Hay gets topped up and water gets changed throughout the day as needed in addition.

Currently mines massive due to Boonie being disabled. It’s a good thing I’m generally home most of the time as I’m a carer, here’s some:

Wake up during the night multiple times in order to check on Boonie and make sure she has had some food and water if she is doing her upset noise. Correct her posture, go back to bed.

Wake up around 8am, clean up Boonie pee as she just goes anywhere atm. Give rabbits some pellets, turn on fan. Top up water and hay if needed

                                              Coffee

Boonie: 3 medicines, eye wipe, ear check, baby socks off, wound check, butt wash, towel dry, blow dry, betadine if needed, apply cream, new socks on, front paw soak in betadine water for sore areas. Treats

Somewhere around lunch: more pee clean up and poop etc

                                              Later:
                                              More pee clean up
                                              Hay top up

Boonie cuddle time, usually whilst watching something with the guy I care for. Boonie falls asleep in my arms and dreams and twitches ?

                                              7pm:
                                              Repeat Boonie: 3 medicines….etc

                                              Veggies
Any more top up or cleaning needed

Bedtime, more clean up, fix up Boonie’s posture, make sure she’s had water

Phew! I gotta add the physio exercises in for Boonie from tomorrow onwards too

I didn’t realise I’m doing so much till I wrote this haha, but it’s easy cos I love her ❤️

                                                7:00 – Get out of bed, wash/shower.

7:30 – Feed the bunnies their pellets (30 grams per bunny), top up hay and refresh the water. Maybe close the curtains if I think it’s going to be warm and sunny for them.

7:35 – Eat breakfast, do some house cleaning.

                                                8:20 – Leave for work.

18:15 – Back from work, top up hay, refill water bowl and feed their greens (usually 1-2 hands full of endive and half of a chicory, but sometimes also spinach and arugula for variation, although they don’t like those as much as the endive and chicory)

18:30 – Cooking and cleaning the house. Every other day I clean the wet/poo covered corners of the litterbox (they have a very large one, most of it stays clean for most of the week so I only change the dirty parts) and vacuum the pen while Monster walks in the way and Muffin hides in a box giving me the stink eye (she hates the vacuum). Every now and then I will also release them from their pen during this time so that they can roam around.

19:00 – Eat. Enjoy a peaceful meal if bunnies are not roaming. If they are roaming, prepare to protect food from hungry bunnies.

19:30 – Do some more house cleaning. If bunnies are not roaming, give them a treat ball or puzzle filled with treats (both filled with Beaphar Care+) to play with for a bit.

20:00 Enjoy a peaceful evening or prepare to drag naughty bunnies from random places they’re not allowed to get to/pull nomming bunny heads loose from objects they’re not allowed to chew.

22:30 – Check water, if empty refill. Top up hay if needed. Go to bed.

It is mostly the same during the weekend, but instead of getting out of bed at 7:00 I will get out of bed around 9-10:00. If I’m home the whole day I may decide to have them roam around for the day. Or not. Just depends on if I just cleaned and want to enjoy a clean house for a few hours or if the house is a mess anyway so they can mess it up some more. They have a pen where they live in, not a cage, so they’re never confined to a small space and I own 2 bonded bunnies, so they don’t need me to keep them company.

Around 7 AM, I give Benny his pellets and treats (half a Probios and two dried papaya pieces), before I get my breakfast and about the same time my other furbabies get their breakfast (kitty and doggy). He comes out and explores/plays, as well as asking to be petted–which I of course oblige. Around 9:30 or so (depending on when I have to leave), I clean his litter box and add lots of fresh hay as well as giving him fresh water. This gets him into his enclosure (if he wasn’t already there) so I can leave him safely there. When I get home, usually around 5, he again gets out and I usually give him some salad just as I get home and eat my dinner. After a couple of hours, it’s his veggie time–usually some herbs (parsley, cilantro, dill, or the like)–while I feed my other furbabies and I eat my last snack. Then around 10:30 or 11, he gets his last pellets and its night night time for us all I or course add some hay along the way if he’s eaten most of it.

Bonnie’s on some medication right now so it’s a little different, but:
9:30am: Antibiotics followed by a blueberry or two.

10am-11am: 1/4 cup pellets after her stomach has settled from the meds and a top off of hay and water she might have consumed during the night and early morning. Litter box check. Poop check to make sure meds and surgery aren’t causing issues in her digestive tract.

Usually around 4pm (I’m a college student so whenever I get out of class): I let her out of her pen to roam around (she has a cage attached to a 4×4 pen that she can access all day)

Approximately 6pm: Two large leaves of green lettuce followed by another vegetable such as tomatoes, green peppers, or basil.

9:30pm: Next round of antibiotics plus a check of her spay incision followed by a bite of banana.

10pm: Snuggle time after she forgives me for the horrible betrayal of picking her up and giving her nasty medicine.

11pm-2am depending on the day of the week: Bedtime for the humans and for her too!

I come in and out during the day and I try to change her water regularly, add hay if she’s gobbled it right up, and give her a quick head scritch. I’m feeding her oat hay right now but I’m hoping to mix in some Timothy hay. We haven’t had luck with that in the past because she really loves the crunchy sweet stuff but we’ll see!

                                                      I love reading these!

My routine is going to change soon with a new home & new job, but for now this is what we do:

6am – Sam climbs on my face to wake me up & demand cuddles. I cuddle him for a bit until I fall back asleep, he leaves me alone for another 30 minutes or so.

6:30am – scatter pellets for Sam while I get up. After I’m up, refresh hay/litter tray & refill water. Feed papaya digestive supplement. Play, cuddles & flops while I get ready for work.

8:45 – hand feed a small treat (a few pellets or fibafirst stick) & leave the house.

13:00 – lunchtime visit, cuddles, maybe refresh hay.

                                                      17:30 – home

21:00 – fresh veggies (or some handfuls of forage if I haven’t been to the store). Refill hay, new water.
