I thought bunnies were supposed to be crepuscular and be most active at dusk and dawn? Petunia who is 15 weeks seems to be in the habit of going bananas between 1-4 am! She has half a bedroom as her area and gets the entire bottom floor from 6-11pm but all she does is sleep. Is this a young bun thing? I’m supposed to be bonding her with Mr Buns after her spay and heal but worry she will disturb him. How do I get Petunia on a better sleep schedule? Will she learn from Mr Buns once she’s a bit older? She runs and binkies and digs in her litter box and chews her chew toys, she certainly has plenty to do to keep her occupied but she makes a lot of noise in the process while the rest of us are trying to sleep. Thanks for any advice! Please tell me she will settle down a little bit after her spay? I’ve never seen such a hyper lop before but she has such an cute personality.

It’s lrobably because she’s a young bunny. I remember Rain used to be the craziest fue al ever and would do binkies and zoomies 24/7. Now she’s calmer and has settled down, and just lounges about for of her day. Eat,sleep, treat, excercise, eat, and sleep is her schedule. She still fits in mischief every day though. There’s nothing really to do except wait for her to settle down. Mine calmed down at about five months.

For one yes, she is young, so it will take some time before she settles into a routine sleep schedule. Also, she’ll begin to align with yours as well. Wick did not have a distinct sleep schedule at all at first, but eventually he became quite routine, sleeping from 8-3PM and then 10-5AM.

My new bunny, Elara, is a little over a year and I swear she NEVER sleeps, lol…..I’ve honestly never seen her sleep. She must sleep while I’m sleeping at least.
