Hello! I am a long time bunny mom, first time poster. We currently have a well-bonded MF pair (Fred and Ollie), who are both fixed and approximately 5-6 years old. We’ve had them both since they were under a year old, and although they were not fast friends, they did end up bonding and now remain very close.

Fast forward to about 6 weeks ago, when we had the chance to adopt a 6 month old (fixed) female who was named Snow White. She is the sweetest little thing, and we couldn’t say no to her. She was very affectionate when we met her, and immediately snuggles up and licks just about anyone she meets. However, Snow is not a bunny bun. We introduced her to Fred and Ollie, one at a time, in a bathroom in our house where neither had been before. After a couple of minutes, she attacked both. Fred and Ollie are both pretty friendly and chill. They’ve met other bunnies, and never show signs of aggression. But this new little peanut, although so loving to humans, seems to hate other buns.

We are unsure of how to proceed with bonding the three of them, or if we should just house them separately without intention to bond. So far, we have tried “bathtub” meets, which usually result in Snow showing aggression. Car rides and being pushed in a stroller (in groups of two or all three together) seem to be effective, but usually when we try to go to a neutral space after one of these dates, Snow ends up attacking at some point. We are very cautious and have so far avoided any real bites, but I worry that she will never back down to a friendlier state. Could she calm down a bit as she gets older? We just were not expecting her to be the aggressor, given that she is by far the smallest of the group, and coming into “someone eles’s” home!! Any ideas on how to proceed? For now, we are just planning to take it slow and easy, with pens near each other and the occasional “stress” dates, but will that be enough to eventually get them all bonded?

did you give her at least a month to settle in without interacting with the other ones, like being in a completely different room to allow herself the chance to get acclimated to her new environment? did you do any prebonding?
