        Hello,
I wasnt really sure where to post this, so I will just do it in my introduction thread, but as obvious, I got a new bunny. I did TOOONS of research on various bunnies, (mostly Netherland Dwarf) because that is the one I was going to choose. However I did end up obtaining a baby male Lionhead. Anyways, I constantly read that bunnies did not really tolerate being pet well, loud noises, quit movements, and that it would sometimes takes a significant amount of time for them to come to you? I read that it would not appreciate entering its cage, and just tons of various things. Anyways to the point, my bunny does not appear to do any of this?

I have two children, a six year old and two year old, who are both obviously SUPER excited to play with the bunny aha, but the bunny handles this, (even the first day) extremely well, like I wasnt expecting this. He will nearly let anyone pet him, he is friendly enough (under supervision) with our kitty, and doggy. Like is this normal, did I get lucky? Did the breeders handle their bunnies often, is it the breed? I do not fully understand. He seems to be super happy and hopping all around his cage.

Anyways, thank all of you for your advice/opinions, and I am VERY excited to be here. Thanks again. ^

Welcome to BB! I would say you have yourself a perfectly normal baby rabbit there. Babies love everyone. You won’t know his true personality until he matures.

            Yay thank you.
Well, that is a little exciting and nervous at the same time aha. I hope that he remains a super sweet bunny and not mean or something. I heard that neutering him will keep him calmer. So basically the first four months (or how long until he matures) doesnt matter, in the sense of his personality?

4-5 months is when you will first see him change. This will be due to hormones though. Many people find that their sweet little baby bunny has become a little terror overnight. Spaying/neutering does eliminate hormonal behaviors. It’s important to remember though that hormonal behavior is not their true personality. And even though they are spayed/neutered, teenage bunnies are still teenagers. Many bunnies do not settle completely into their adult personalities until they are around a year old. You will probably see indications before that though.
