        Hello!

I’m in the process of getting a golden retriever puppy, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with Goldens and rabbits? I’ve had my bunny since she was four months old and she is now three. She has always been acquainted with my family dogs, so I know she’s not terrified or skittish when it comes to dogs.

I’d like to hear experiences from people who own a Golden or know someone who owned a Golden and a rabbit? I’ve read experiences from other dog breeds, so I’m only looking to hear from owners of Goldens.

        Thank you!

Im not aware of any retrievers on the BB membership…

And no, bunnies generally aren’t afraid of dogs…. silly bunnies !!

Which makes the protection of the bun from the puppy up to us humans!!
Puppies (whatever breed, GR included) tend to want to play with their mouth and teeth which can of course be fateful to a bunny, without the puppy meaning to of course. And then they get older (teens) and can become boisterous with bunnies.
But as you already have family dogs then you know that.

I have a new rescue dog (retriever family…) that comes into the bunny enclosure when i clean them out (and they are in it) and he is fine with them (much more interested in vacuuming up the poops !! )
I wouldn’t trust him though without me being there.

A new puppy!! How exciting !!
