It sounds like a drastic survival response, in that s predator may overlook a pretty that’s already dead because the meat isn’t fresh. Similar to possums playing dead.

He was probably afraid and trying to cope. Alternatively, he could have not been riled up and decided to relax elsewhere. Dead flops are also used to get attention sometimes. Either way, I’m glad the ordeal is over and you’re both okay!

Atlas does ‘dead bunny flops’ more than any other bunny I’ve ever had, but I don’t think it’s a fear response, more of extreme relaxation. Ollie sounds very smart!

If a vacuum cleaner went BANG nearby, I’d probably want to play dead myself! I’ve seen both Panda and Fernando do those dramatic flops that look alarming to people who aren’t expecting them, though it’s more common for them to progress from a bunloaf to a full-stretch-out lambchop position.

I think I might play dead, I’ve ordered a new vacuum cleaner expecting next day delivery, nope 7 days, this room is terrible.
