My female rabbits name is Cocoa, and Trex is the male. I adopted them about 4 months ago and they have been together in the foster homes every since they were rescued from a hoarding situation. They love each other and are best buddies and groom one another and never fight. When I first brought them home Cocoa humped Trex maybe once or twice and I just assumed it was the dominant thing from everything I googled. It stopped for the last few months but the last couple days it has been NON STOP HUMPING. She runs after him and humps his face! She grabs onto him with her nails and bites his fur and rips a chunk out. He just kind of sits there and let’s it happen and just nips her butt after. Today she was doing it off and on for hours. I don’t know what has gotten into her. She has never done it this much and I feel so bad for Trex. He’s such a sweet boy and I don’t think he wants to hurt her so he just let’s her do it. I pulled her off of him because I could tell he was starting to get really upset about it. Then she just runs back to him and does it again over and over. He finally bit her butt hard enough that she left him alone for a little bit. They are still grooming each other so they don’t seem mad. But I just want this to stop because I am worried one of them is going to get hurt or clawed in the eye or something. Help!!

        Thanks ?

Do you have any idea of her age? Perhaps her hormones are now affecting her behaviors, while before she was still younger and acting on just being a friendly young rabbit.

If needed, can you make accommodations to house then separately?

Separate them for a few hours. If you are noticing he is starting to get mad, they might break out into a full on fight. If they do, youll need to completely separate them for two+ months, and you still might have a hard time getting to bond them after.

Are you completely sure theyve both been neutered/spayed? Has your current vet confirmed it?
