Can healthy bonding be achieved for rabbit that are taking many months to get along, like those pairs that bond instantly?

My rabbit is very sweet and wants a partner desperately for mutual grooming and affection. The female is not returning good behavior. I don’t want to get into a conversation here to how to help the bonding situation because I already started another thread for that discussion. (Thanks though.)

I started attending some sit-ins for other rabbits bonding and realized some pairs bond instantly, like “love at first sight”. They just love each other. Its truly unbelievable. I don’t know how to express how much I love my rabbit ,and want that for him so bad. My bonding process has been rough. Its taking many months for improvements. Sometimes it one step forward and then two steps back kind of a situation.

So the input/opinions I’m looking for here is can healthy bonding be achieved for rabbit that are taking many months to get along, like those pairs that bond instantly? I’m scared even if my rabbits bond, it will be like a “so-so” marriage.

        Thanks for your insight.

          Yes definitely!!!

Love at first site is actually super rare!

My first pair was a very tough bond (took like 3 months of daily dates), and they hated each other at first. They would fight instantly, so we had to start with very short dates and lots of car rides.

Eventually they came around though, and then they were madly madly in love and inseparable. And the whole thing was sooo worth it.

The bonding process has nothing to do with the eventual bond. Some bunnies just take longer to sort things out. Once they do though, the bond is the same.

I agree with Dana, bonds that take longer can be just as happy, it’s just a more frustrating process for you!
