Rhino’s poops have suddenly changed from dark brown to light brown.

he eats Timothy hay, a small amount of pellets, and fresh veggies every day. we typically give him 1-3 papaya tablets throughout the day.

the only dietary thing that’s changed is the brand of papaya tablets, and he’s only had 2 of the new brand. prior to this, he hadn’t had papaya in a week or so.

he’s still behaving normally, binkying, eating, flopping.

what could cause the change in color?

Is his poop runny or softer than usual? Rabbit poop is usually a dark brown color, if it turns to diarrhea or if he starts to act wierd the best option is to take him to the vet. Maybe it was a one day thing it might go back to normal after a while, you won’t know for sure until a few hours.

If it’s only changed in colour from dark brown to a lighter brown, I wouldn’t worry. Any other changes?

Color usually changes based on moisture and hay content. If he’s drinking more water and/or eating more hay, then his poops will become lighter in color.
