I finally got all the materials needed to build thumper’s c&c cage and I had some questions about the fleece and the uhaul pads
        1. you must wash the uhaul pads once before using yes? What settings are best?
        2. do I need to wash the fleece as well? What settings are best?
        3. I’ve watched a lot of youtube videos showing that you sew two fleece together with the uhaul pads and turn it out and I was wondering how you wash it separately then?
        4. Is it okay if I sew the two fleece I bought together leaving one of the smaller sides open and sticking the uhaul pads in there for easy access to take in and out?
I think this is all the questions I have for now though I can’t promise I won’t think of more later  I wanna make sure that I do this right and best for thumper! Thank you all if you can answer any or all of the questions!!

          Hi there!

I’m not familiar with uhaul pads, but if they have some sort of stuffing then I would make sure that the fleece completely covers it so that it could not be chewed up and ingested by little Thumper! I would wash everything before you use it, just to be safe.

As far as being able to still wash the fleece and pads separately, maybe you could sew the fleece on 3 sides and use some Velcro on the last side so that you can separate the fleece and pads when you need to wash them? If I understand correctly you’re trying to basically make a fleece “pillow case” type removable cover for these pads? Not sure what you’re working with, but that’s my suggestion for an easy close that isn’t permanent!
