Forum BEHAVIOR bunnies pee out of anger?

        hey guys! i’m new here. my wife and I just adopted a 8 week old Holland lop who is super chill. we let her run around are apartment and as she can be mischievous, she will go after electrical cords. I get her away from then but then she pees on me. do rabbits pee on things out of anger? thanks for the help.

          Yes, they can. But it’s not something you can really punish them for because they won’t understand. The best thing is when you know a sassy pee is going to happen, wait until the butt curls up to pee and bring him to the litter box to strengthen litterbox training.

            They can also pee out of fear or just general excitement. That’s common with young puppy dogs as well because they don’t have full control over their bladder for purely physiological reasons.

            As Wick says, it’s not a punishable thing. Putting her in the litterbox right away is good though, so she learns to associate pee and the box.

              thanks for the responses. I never will punish Dasher, simply because she wont understand. we started to put in her in her letterbox right after, like suggested and that helped a lot, so thanks! shes getting much better at it, so with some more time I think she will have it down. I even figured out how to keep her away from electrical cords. she likes to dig more, so we have a old blanket we let her play with, she doesn’t eat it, but digs away, we put it in a carrier i took apart. she loves it!
