Is it normal for dwarf  bunnies to shed hair from their heads when they molt? I was petting him on the top of his head and then a lot of fur was coming off. He’s not bald there or anything, but I’m new to this stuff, so I wouldn’t know.

Yes it is. If it does become bald, that’s not too worrisome either. Wick’s body sheds when a new layer is in, but his head sheds before the new hair comes in so he typically has a bit of baldness for a while.

They can look extremely silly when they shed their head- and facial hair But it’s normal. They shed the fur on their ears as well.

Oh. That’s hard to imagine! Do young bunnies do it too? He had his first shed the past weeks but it was pretty light. And now its stopped. Do youngsters shed less than adults?
