I’ve already asked about this before and people said that if I get him a friend our relationship will change. I’m most afraid of that, as we are not that close anymore to begin with. I think it happened after his spay and being kept in a cage for 2 months that he started to interact less with me. He will hop away right when I come and sit down with him which is really strange and he won’t sleep with me on the bed anymore. I think he doesn’t like it when I’m too close to him. Why do you think he behaves this way? Should I give it a couple months time? He is 11 months now.

I don’t want to get another bun now because I’m afraid he will ignore me even more. So what if I get him one when he is like 5 years old, will our relationship still change a lot?

If he was in a cage for two months that is why he is ignoring you.

Yeah because I listened to the advice on the internet to keep him in a cage after his spay so he won’t pee on everything. Regret that I actually did it, because he is a complete different bunny now. This happened a few months ago, he can’t be still pissed, right? If so, when will he stop being angry with me?

It just seems like you need to rebond with your bunny before you even consider getting another one.
How did you bond with him initial before he was neutered? A neuter isn’t as invasive as a spay, so he should’ve been out playing after a week.

You mention in your other post that you were syringe feeding critical care earlier this month because he was sick.
I think that more than the nueter is why your rabbit doesnt want to be near you-you need to rebond with him is all, you broke his trust, and now he is wary of you.

if I get him a friend our relationship will change

Rabbits dont see us as rabbits and behave accordingly. Once introduced to a new rabbit some will work harder to ensure their friend and them are happy, taking some attention away from you. This is not a permanent state. Your relationship will still be the same, your rabbit will just be less dependent on you for attention, which is in no way a bad thing.

I’m curious where you got your information from because anywhere that suggests 2 months of cage confinement should really be shut down…
