My bun is about 6 months old.  My last two rabbits LOVED to play with toys and dig and just have fun.  My new bun doesn’t seem to get it.  He loves to knock over the stacking cups we got for him to get the cherrio I hide in between each one, but that’s it.  No throwing keys, making noise with jingle toys, digging on different sheets of blankets…. nothing.

Any advice on how we can get our bun to play more?

        Thanks!

Some bunnies just don’t like to play with toys. Some like things they can destroy. Some like toys that you play with them. It can take some figuring out to see what your rabbit likes.

My two for example love knocking over their plastic bowling pins so I keep standing them up for them to knock over. They also love destroying anything made from willow – balls, baskets, dumbells etc. They like chewing and throwing around cardboard bits too sometimes.

You shouldn’t really be giving your bun cheerios by the way.

We have bunnies that don’t play with toys either. Their activity is either being lazy or wildly tearing around the house and then being lazy ?
We discovered that our female loves to hide in and shred large cardboard boxes so that is really the only “toy” we keep around for them. We remove all the tape, cut a flap in the side and listen to all the wild sounds of shredding happening inside. She also was ripping at the carpet in one corner so we put a large phone book there and she occasionally shreds that.
That’s about it, but they are happy with it.

I have two rabbits each with different personalities Arwen is the more playful one she absolutely loves to dig through cardboard ( she can disassembled a cardboard box in less then 2 days ) and throw stuff around like baby keys, pieces of cardboard, toys I make her, and even sometimes when she’s trying to fling stuff around she stand up real high and fall over XD ( none of the times she got hurt ) my other bunny Daisy is more chill occasionally she will toss baby keys and stuff but that mainly right after I clean her cage she gets angry when I rearrange her stuff. She mainly likes the toys that I fill with treats, oats, or pellets. So I suggest you try experimenting with some stuff cause it took me a little while to find out what my bunny’s love.
