Hope , A Mini Lop. Just turned 4 today. But for the past maybe 2 weeks shes pooping cecotropes multiple times a day some days. But either she is over prodoucing them or I’m being a paranoid bun parent. She is doing normal poops too.
She’ll do normal poops in her box and then do the other poops outside her box leading them to smear everywhere in her cage. Any advice or Help please??? (I would post pictures but it keeps telling me the file is too big) She is Also eating Normally And Drinking Normally.

Usually excessive cecals are due to diet. What’s her diet like?

She is currently eating more pellets than she should because she was underweight over the summer. About 3/4 cups a day. She is 6 pounds. And then obviously unlimited hay. I’m thinking about doing less pellets since she did gain the weight back she needed. And making sure she eats more hay. I did some massages just in case she needed any gas help.

It is most likely the extra pellets, so cut back on them and see if that has any effect.

              Does she get any veg?

I agree, cut back on the pellets as she likely doesn’t need as many now Does she get any greens or treats? Oh also, what hay does she usually have?

She Gets Romaine as Her Base Green.I’m still figuring out what to add more. She normally gets 2 cups of that a day. And as for hay she is on American Pet Diner Timothy Gold

A 6 pound rabbit should only get around 1/4 cup of pellets a day, so it would definitely help to decrease her pellets, but do so slowly.

American Pet Diner Timothy Gold is good hay. That’s one of the varieties that I feed to my rabbits. APD also has high fiber timothy hay and meadow hay, which is like orchard grass. You may want to try giving your bunny a little variety in her hay.

Have you seen these lists of veggies and greens for rabbits? These will show you some other good ones to try. If she isn’t used to eating anything other than Romaine, go slowly introducing new veggies.

She seems to be doing better now. I haven’t seen any excess cecals since I made sure she ate more hay today. Also I’ll be introducing Kale to her diet soon.
