Ashi’s got this weird tear-shaped dip in her fur. It’s been there for a few days, and I’m not sure what it means. I don’t think it has anything to do with shedding. Can anyone tell me what it is, and if it’s permanent? (Picture in the attachments)

        Thank you!

Hmm… I’m trying to fix your picture, but it isn’t working for some reason.

Are you sure it isn’t just a weird shed pattern?

            Thanks for the response.

I’m a new rabbit owner, so I’m not sure what to think. I’ll set the photo as my profile picture, and you can draw your own conclusion.

I tried to fix the picture, but I couldn’t, so the problem might be in the file name. There’s a _ in the file name and that could be why it won’t show.

Weird “dips” in fur on the forehead are often molt lines or hair whorls. They tend to change over the year. If the skin is fine and smooth underneath, not crusty or flaky or red, it’s nothing to worry about.

I had to save pic then add to my own post. Not sure what the problem was getting it to show in you post!!

That does look like normal moulting pattern. My own rabbits very often start there on the forehead.

                 Ashi is gorgeous!!

Beautiful bun!!!! Love how her muzzle marking looks like a bunny iwith butterfly wings.

I agree, it looks like molting. My Mini-Rex used to shed in chunks like that, especially all over his face. He’d look so silly with big bald spots all over his face.
