You guys know that Ophelia loves to sleep on my bed, and has been coming up a lot and cuddling with me now that it’s colder out. Since it’s cold, we use two heavy knit blankets, a comforter, and a fleece blanket…so it’s basically a blanket mountain on the bed at night.

My husband thinks that Ophelia is being aggressive and rude because she started digging like crazy and shoving her way through the blankets on the bed while we sleep.

I think she’s just trying to burrow? It makes perfect sense to me, there’s a warm soft mountain of fabric. I mean, there’s literally a pile of blankets on top of us and she isn’t grunting or biting or anything like that, she’s just charging through with her nose and digging.

To be honest with you guys, I don’t think Ophelia likes the husband too much  Sometimes he falls asleep on the couch and when I wake up and he’s not in the bed, Ophelia is just laying calmly next to me. For like the whole night she sleeps with me if I’m the only one in the bed.

Anyway, what do you guys think about what she’s doing?

To me it sounds like she’s just enjoying a good digging session. Buttercup loves her digging blanket corner (now it’s gone as Peanut decided to pee on it ) Maybe watch out that she doesn’t try and ‘do away’ with your husband though. Watch out for carefully placed toys in the middle of the floor, subtle things

Hahahah she is slowly winning their little domestic dispute. He gets fed up of her digging or binkying around and goes “if she doesn’t stop I’m going to sleep on the couch”….

……am I a bad wife for showing him to the living room

But really, I just love that she comes up and hangs out with me. She will even let me drape a blanket over her and actually wrap my arm around her and snuggle. So, I’ve definitely been getting a lot less sleep at night, but I’m used to not sleeping well so it doesn’t bother me. But it would be unfair to lock her out of my room at night because that’s her favorite room.

Asriel does this too! He’ll come up on the bed with us and dig for like 10 minutes straight, and then he’ll flop after in contentment. It’s really funny to watch. He loves to dig and burrow, but much like Sarah, I had to take away the digging blanket because Bombur would pee on it constantly. One bun has to ruin it for them both.

No you are not a bad wife! I told my husband the same thing too xD Because they aren’t bonded yet and still in separate cages, we have them come out for an hour each alternating from 6:30-11:30/midnight-ish and he gets so fussy with the lights being on and the buns jumping all over him while he tries to sleep. It’s funny to watch Asriel go right up to his face and frantically sniff it.

I’d literally sell my partner if I thought it’d mean the bunnies could sleep in the bed with me. It’s okay, he knows who comes first

lmao yes, he gets so ticked when she tickles him with her whiskers! he’s all “I’m trying to sleep” and me and Ophelia are sitting there like misbehaved children who stayed up too late XD

She’s probably trying to create a “scrape”, I believe it’s called. It’s making a cranny for extra security before deciding to settle in. Wick does this in bed as well.

Oh definitely one bun has to ruin it for the other. I have to be so careful with what toys I give them because of Peanut’s inability to stop eating everything he shouldn’t but then I have to be equally careful with their actual food because of Buttercup’s tummy. Sometimes I think there’d prefer it if the other cleared off

hahahaha when people ask us if we want children we’re always like “we have two!” Bunnies are stuck in the terrible twos. Who needs real children when you’re hands are full dealing with not just one, but two bunnies! My goodness the amount of times I have to firmly say no, or stop what I’m doing to get them to stop doing something. Bombur is by far the biggest handful. Asriel is content to stay out of trouble and just explore or lay next to Bombur’s cage. Bombur on the other hand will go out of his way to eat the walls or jump up to a high spot and not be able to get down.

Quincy was like that… he couldn’t stay out of trouble! Ophelia used to be a little mischievous, but she’s definitely become more easy going. Sometimes things are accidentally left around and she’s pretty good about not messing with anything she knows she isn’t supposed to.
