Nipping/scrabbling at my undershirt, while I’m wearing it!

Fernando has been getting pretty rambunctious lately. Most of you probably know about his propensity for jumping 3-plus feet high to the top of the condo, thence out into the wide world of my apartment, but he’s also developed an odd habit of nipping at my white undershirt and scrabbling at it with his paws. I generally take my shirt off once I get home and set up the x-pen enclosure, then go inside for the nightly floor play session. I think Fernando is playing, or looking for attention, or possibly even trying to groom what he may suppose to be my fur – he always stops when I pet him – but I’d like to know if anyone else (especially guys) has ever had their bunny get playful with their white undershirt/T-shirt.

It’s probably just that he wants attention. I know Hermione will start pulling and biting at my shirt if I ignore her for too long so he’s probably just telling you to pet him.

I agree with Serenity. Bombur does it nightly when he’s not getting my attention. It’s a compliment ?

My Blue and Badger will do this when he doesnt like something. Its often because Im sitting in a spot they dont want me sitting in, so they will hop into my lap and start to dig at my shirt. My three say “I want attention” by staring and nipping But, since Fernando stops as soon as you pet him, its very possible he is doing it because he wants your attention

Mine do this to my socks and my pj bottoms. I think they find it highly amusing. It sounds like Fernando is wanting your attention

It may actually be both, come to think on it. Like I say, Fernando has gotten pretty energetic lately about looking for a way to break out so he can go a-exploring, and the X-pen enclosure can get a bit crowded with a large human in it. So I’d bet he’s saying “show me some love!” and “out of my way, you clumsy lout!”

Meanwhile, Panda, who definitely seems to be the lazier of the pair, is just hanging out in her favorite hidey box these days (a big box I got at Costco that has three doors providentially cut in it ahead of time) watching the proceedings. She’s still skittish about the whole petting deal, but she’s getting much more comfortable with me as time goes by; she regularly loafs or stretches out in said hidey box less than a foot away from my legs, and occasionally flops out.

Oh gosh, Ophelia was doing this to the covers on the bed for HOURS last night. And she even nipped my finger! She has been very cuddly lately, but I was in a deep sleep and not awake petting her, so I think she was bothered that I was lying there lifeless and not cuddling her. Boy was she mad at me after a while!
