When we first got the buns we had a big x-pen for the two of them to share, but as you all know, hormones came into play and they’ve been separated since 10 weeks old. At 10 weeks we put them each into one of these cages: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005N09UTO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. They’ve been semi-decent cages, but they’re difficult to clean and they started to get rusty on the metal joints, which bothers me. Right now my husband and I live in a room in a shared house, so two separate x-pens aren’t a possibility at all space-wise. Does any body have any suggestions for an easy to clean/ good cage? I like the height of the current cages, but I wish they had a little bit more room length and width wise. We were thinking of NIC cubes, but everywhere we look we’d have to buy like 4 sets of 12 cubes, which would’ve been $150 or so just so they could have height and still have a top (Asriel can hop out of anything). So any suggestions for good cages is much appreciated! They’re both Holland Lops.

When we first got my lionshead, we didn’t have a cage for him yet. So we temporarily put him in a really big dog crate we had. I opens at the top and it is pretty spacious. It doesn’t have any siding, it’s just barred. But we ended up not getting another cage and we just keep him in that. My rabbit has excersize time to run around outside of his cage. So if you don’t care much about the look of the cage, a dog crate is something that actually worked surprisingly well for me. It’s very big and cheap. Hope this helps!
